I got my first Pentax in 1968 at the PX at the Pioneer Kaserne, Hanau, Germany. It was an Asahi Pentax S1a. I still have it, but I haven't used it in a while. I do shoot film some, but on a ZX-5n.

The main circuit board on my K-5 died. It's in Chancellor now for the next month. Has anyone else had this happen.

I should post the shutter noise from a Spotmatic. It scared small children and large animals. Reminds me of a car wreck.

About 18 months after I bought this, otherwise superb lens, the motor went out. Now, 18 months after it was replaced,it has gone out again. Is this going to be an ongoing problem?:(

If you get the 30-135, get an extended warranty and a box of extra focus motors. Mine has quit for the second time. I'm getting about 18 months out of them.

Taken July 1973 near Cedar City, UT on a geology field camp. The geology department paid me $10 apiece for these and 6 or 7 more. I was rich.
They're scanned with an HP S20, which seems to have lost some focus.

I have an Asahi Pentax S1A(my first camera I bought in 1968), Spotmatic II, 2 Me Supers, 2 ZX-5N's,K100D, and K20D. Also, an Olympus C 2000z and a Canon Mk IIN.
I use the 2 digital Pentaxes, the Canon(for sports),a ZX-5N and believe it or not the S1A. It requires no batteries. It always works and with a 50mm lens fits in my coat pocket.

I have 35-40 Pentax lenses from Tak's to DA's, as well as the odd Sigma, Tamron,
Tokina, Vivatar, Zeis, And Contax. After all, I"ve had 41 years to do this.
