I have been having these errors as well. I read your post and tried to properly eject from my mac a couple of times and things seem to work fine now. Have you still been having issues?

I think I will wait. I can make due with the primes I currently have, and may grab the 24-70 at some point. I totally forgot about Photokina, too. I made it to Photokina in 2014 and i may have to make the trip to Cologne again this year.

Thanks, Adam! I think my plastic fantastic will keep me occupied for a bit then. Price is always an issue, but if they release a really good, fast 50 mm piece of glass next year I'd gladly pay a premium for it. FF Pentax with a true fast 50 on it is kind of my grail camera. I love the focal length.
On another note, my Pentax dealer reached out to tell me that a handful of K-1s will be shipped to Holland next week and one has my name on it. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! Is the coverage pretty decent on the DA 50? I have gotten good results from that lens on the K-3 and if it performs well on the K-1 then it will probably sate me until a new (hopefully HD and WR) fast 50 is released.

I'm getting my K-1 shortly (I hope-long story but my dealer is getting one of a couple coming to my region from Pentax Europe next week) and am trying to decide if I should buy the FA 50 f1.4 now, or wait to see what comes out next year. I really want the K-1 with a "fast 50" and see a "standard large aperture prime" set for 2017. Will that new DFA lens be a 50 f1.4 or the like?
I currently have the ltd 31 and a bunch of old manual glass including a 50 f1.4 along with a slew of DA lenses so I should have plenty to work with, but would really like a new HD fast 50. I currently also have the DA 50 f1.4 which appears to give almost ff coverage, so that may work for a bit. Any thoughts?

I see, thanks. So they are still shipping, just reduced numbers? That makes me feel better. Thanks for the scoop on SRS. I already paid for it locally and it was a deal where I sold the shop my K-3. So I'm kind of tethered to this particular store for now.

I ordered a K-1 last week and the dealer told me it'd be in stock within a week to 10 days. It's day 10 now, and they are saying that Pentax has yet to receive any. I assume they mean Pentax Europe?
Does anyone have any solid or confirmed information on when the next shipment of K-1s to Europe will be? Has anyone seen them come back into stock in Europe over the last few days at any shops?
I know this has been discussed before and there are multiple theories about why there is a backorder. Frankly it's good for Pentax (Ricoh) as it means they are moving. Bad for me, though, as I want mine! Any information would be appreicated. I'm not getting much from my dealer.

Do you have the AA filter simulator on? When mine is on it makes a strange beeping sound which is essentially the SR mechanism performing the AA function. I'm 99 percent sure this is what you are hearing.

EXACTLY! I've seen a few people state that they hope this is a 16 mp 1 1/7" sensor, which would make things worse for the reasons you stated. I doubt it's possible, but how interesting would it be to see a 12 mp 1" sensor in this? Don't think it would work, though.

If this is true, I'm all over it. I have the original Q and almost bought the Q7 but got the MX-1 instead, which I'm pretty happy with. I love the Q, and find myself leaving my K-3 at home more and more and taking the MX-1 or Q with 01 prime wherever I can go. IQ is obviously ridiculously better with the K-3, but I get a lot of keepers with the two small Pentax's as I find myself taking more risks, being able to take more photos without drawing attention with a big DSLR.
EDIT: Someone speculated m4/3 which I don't think is possible without new lenses. If it was the case, I'd be smitten. I got a lot of good stuff out of my E-PL1.
EDIT 2: That gold one is fugly.

I just bought a K-3 in The Hague 2 weeks ago. The place I got it had a K-01, and quite a few Pentax lenses along with a few K mount Sigmas.

I wish this had been taken with my K-5, but I didn't have it with me at the time. This was taken from the window or an aircraft taking off from Newark Airport (or maybe we were landing.)

I'm having a hard time resizing my image and keeping the quality. I am trying to get it to a reason able size in Lightroom 5, and once I got it down to about 2048 on the long end it still looked good, but then lost a lot of quality when I uploaded it. Is this because the forum restricts the size? Any tricks on keeping sharpness/resolution?

I think it's a moot point as Ricoh made it clear in the press release that the Pentax name is staying, but only on DSLR's/Mirrorless while Ricoh will go on P&S.
I would argue that branding is extrememly important to a lot of people, and brand identity coupled with what individual brands mean to consumers is not trivial at all. Look at the auto industry. When GM owned Saab, so you think that lifelong Saab owners who had a lot invested in the brand and had grown an emotional attachment to it would've been happy if the Saab badge came off and a GM badge went on? Doesn't matter as it still has an engine an wheels! But it does matter. Or if when Ford owned Jaguar they release a Ford XJ6? Jaguar lovers would've lost their minds. Let's imagine for a second that Ferrari fell into financial trouble and was saved by Daihatsu. A Daihatsu 458 Italia would probabably be widely criticized (i.e. Ferrari lovers would lose their ****ing minds.) And so it goes in the camera world for many people. Brand identity means a lot to some, like it or not. I'm glad to hear that you are such a grownup that it doesn't matter to you.

I sure hope that is the case. There are so many interesting cameras out there making think I should switch systems, but there it too much about Pentax that I love. I guess it boils down to the fact that if Ricoh cared so little about the brand and rebadged everything as a Ricoh, what motiviation would I have to maintain my brand loyalty? I like Pentax to the point that I want to stay with the brand even despite some potentially more exciting (to me) products from others like Fuji and Sony (compact FF mirrorless is my grail camera.) I love the Pentax UI, ruggedness and WR, ergonomics (K-5 etc) and solid consistent IQ. Not to mention that I have a blast mounting 25-30 year old lenses with no adaptor and taking excellent images through those little "time machines."

I hope this is the strategy. I could care less about P&S, but I hope they don't release a K-3 or K-01 predecessor under the Ricoh name. That would be the moment I jumped over the wall and bought a Sony A7.

Yes, Kunzite.... Can you elaborate? Is it a Pentax product? Camera body?
