Thanks Gregory, great tips, I'll for sure try shooting in RAW never done it before and am not much on pp but have photoshop so I should give it a go at least once :) Love the edit, I had cropped the pic as per SpecialK's advice and posted on my flickr but you did a great job of bringing out the different tones of grey.

Oh okay, that makes sense. Have tried cropping them and yes I agree grass has been done to death..it's just a good one for beginners to start out with as well it makes you feel really good when it looks all national geographicie (that is now a word!).

Nice that's the lens I got, it's a great walkaround lens. Love that it's WR so don't have to worry about it when it rains or snows.

Welcome JerD :) Have just got my K-30 and love it, you will not be disappointed it's a great camera. What lens are you getting with it?

Hi all, just got my first Pentax and am loving it. I had a Sony Alpha SLT 55 before and although it was a great camera the dust getting into the sensor was really frustrating. That coupled with the translucent mirror getting scratched when trying to get a speck of dust of it. Happy with my K-30 at least with the weather sealing there will be less dust and it's a much better camera.
