When the flash on camera is set to command or master in wireless, rear curtain does not work, not an option. When the flash on camera is in the ON position, it fires rear curtain and the flash set as slave also fires rear curtain. Now I need to figure how to get the flash on the camera not to fire.

Lens is the da 35mm 2.8. The 360, when the switch is in the on position, fires correctly in second curtain. If I move the switch to wireless, no dice. Only fires in first curtain

I've two af360fgz and I can't figure how to get rear curtain flash to work off camera with my k3ii. Both flashes work on camera. I also have a Godox 350 with a xpro transmitter. I also have a Godox X2T if that helps. If not, going back. Also a sigma 530 Super. Is there a way I can get an off camera flash to fire rear curtain wirelessly. Thanks

The Godox does have the rear curtain flash and it works fine on the body. Can't get it to work off body using Godox XproP.

Options for off camera rear curtain

I've done a lot of googling and you tube and manual searches. What are my options for off camera rear curtain flash? I've messed around with some different flashes and radio triggers (Godox). Is it possible with the Godox TTL 350 or the Sigma 530 super? Or only Pentax flashes? Thanks

Are there any benefits to updating the firmware in my K3ii from 10 to 12? I'm not purchasing any new lenses anytime soon.
Thanks

Zoom Creep while walking

I'm looking for a simple solution to a small but annoying problem. I have a Black Rapid strap I really like. However when walking around with my 55-300 zoom , the lens is always zooming out, I believe , just from the way it is rubbing my leg. Any quick fixes to secure the zoom? Thanks

How does the older dmc 35mm 2.8 limited compare to the newer hd version? Is the difference enough to justify the cost difference?

HD 10-17 or DA 10-17

There are many of the older DA 10-17mm fisheyes available for a reasonable price. The newer HD 10-17mm fisheye is quite a bit more. I'm not shooting full frame. Any reasons to spend the money on the newer lens, or is the older DA close enough? What are any differences other than removable hood and new coating? Is the coating $250 better? Thanks

Not sure if this is the right subgroup, but, what is the prevailing thought about AA batteries for flash or grips? Rechargeable or lithium? Which of either is everyone's favorite? Thanks

I'm planning on making the jump from the K30 to the K3ii. I enjoyed the K30 and learned a lot while using it. What surprises, good or bad, might I expect with the move to K3ii? Thanks

I looked around a little and it seems that Picaso does an automatic adjustment. And it seems it can't be turned off.

WB was set to cloudy
The first pic is the raw file with no editing, just saved in Picasa as a jpeg. The second image is the unaltered jpeg from the k30

I have my K30 set for raw+.
I just transferred a bunch of pics of the kids snowboarding and could not believe the difference between the raw and the jpeg. Each jpeg appears to by way under exposed.
The raw files seem to be right on, with white snow and good color saturation on everything else.

Had I taken the pics with jpeg only, I would have been wondering what was wrong with the me, or the camera.
Can the processing brains of the camera not be trusted?

Flash Photography with K-50 & SMC-M 50mm Lens

I'm trying to figure this manual lens and flash thing out as well.
I'm enjoying my 50mm 1.7 manual with the green button for metering and auto shutter. But, using the on board flash is resulting in extreme over exposure.

I understand the aperture selection using f = GN/distance. Do I just skip the green button metering and set a shutter speed inverse to my ISO?

Unless I'm Using TAv...

Honestly, I have very little idea of what I'm doing. I'm new to photography (9/2012) and new to Pentax (4/2013 w/K30).
I do think I know enough to be scared of high ISO, but, I hardly ever leave TaV and try to keep my ISO less than 3200. With the two wheels for adjustment for shutter and aperture, I can easily make adjustments to keep my ISO in a comfortable range. Even at 3200, noise is not an issue until serious cropping occurs.
If I were to keep my ISO at 80, my camera would be married to a tripod and I would only be able to do landscapes on still days or sleeping babies.

I'll try cleaning the contacts. As near as I can tell the ring is OK.
Manual focus works great.
