Well the sage is over, after nearly a month of not having a k3ii I finally got it back the other day. And it turns out the problem was terminal so it's a brand new camera.

It was actually purchased at the end of November so it was out of the 30 days....... I still think that if your paying the best part of £700 that you should be able to get a decent turn around time. I have photo shoots waiting and I can't use me old k30 as it developed a problem(why I replaced it in the first place) and my other cameras (a old Olympus e420 and a 1929ish voiglander medium format) aren't suitable.

Hi all, I don't post here much, but I'm having a issue with getting my k3 fixed. I got a new k3ii for Christmas and within 500 shots the sensor developed a green line (a really notice le green line which indicates a sensor failur apparently). So the first thing I did was take it back to the shop, they sent it to the Pentax repair centre in the uk. That was 3 weeks ago and I've still not got it back. Has anyone else had any issues with slow turn around in the uk? Also the same company messed up the repair of my k30 a few years back. Starting to wonder if it's worth switching system to get a decent turn around time and maybe get a camera first time without having to send it back multiple times to get it fixed!! Sorry for the rant but any ideas of what to say/do are welcome.

Hi all, its been a while since i last posted. My k30 has developed a small issue where it sometimes blacks out during long exposures. It becomes completely unresponsive and i have to remove the battery and then put it back in to get life back into it. So i was wondering if anybody else is having this issue, if so is there any fixes for the problem. My other option is to upgrade probably to a k3II but I'm not sure i want the expense. Any thoughts and/or feed back would be welcome.

Hi again, I finally sorted out the problem. What you need is the pro drive camera connection screw from Peak. Then you need to remove the rubber part (it's not glued or anything) and its works brilliantly. It's the same d ring as used to be in with the arcaplate. Hope this helps anyone else having the same issue.

The k30 doesn't have a ND filter as far as I am aware. I have since got the cokin p series nd filters for my k30 and I am very happy with them

i ordered one off Duracell direct, it lasts nearly as long as the original. It doesn't seem to be a Duracell battery but a ''2 Power'' one, it was around £12

I would say the canon is by far the worst, it feels really cheap and nasty, . A friend has a D7000 and its a nice camera, it feels well built and its picture quality is good. Its autofocus is faster, but only if you have expensive lenses. I would say my k30s images are probably a little bit sharper than a D7000, and the weather sealing on my k30 is brilliant.
I recently moved from an olympus e420 to the k30 and I have not regretted it one bit, It is a brilliant camera that is easy to use. Personally i would go into a shop and try them out, See what one you like most.
I hope this helps
