;) sorry misread that part... ;)

As I said my INOV8 was used in my K7 and now my K5 and I find it will easily last a full day of photography if not more. I know it won't last as long as the Pentax battery but I haven't had an issue with mine yet.

Unfortunately cheap compatible batteries are just that - cheap. If you get good life out of them well you got a good one... ;)

I have an INOV8 battery as my spare and whilst it has a lower capacity I find it far exceeds 40mins of use. I have used it whilst on on a photoday taking over 500 images on one charge.

Can I ask how you tested the batteries for 3 hours of use? :) Were you shooting photos or was the camera just left switched on?

I have a post count of 13 since 2008? How have I posted everyday about it?

I have been speaking to my dealer who has been speaking to Pentax UK on mine and other users behalf. I don't pay £1000 for a camera and then spend my time 'on hold' to Pentax to be fobbed off everyday.

Yes its a great camera (I've never said anything different), but when I can't take a photograph TTL in focus indoors at 10am in the morning in natural light then something is wrong with the £1000 camera I purchased. When a £100 p&s camera can focus in the same situation correctly I'd say its a fairly substantial issue. Its not like I'm trying to use the camera outside of its operational parameters. It indicates that the QC & Testing of the £1000 camera was not as stringent or sufficient and the camera was probably released for sale far too soon.

I think people are within their right to grumble about said issues. Yes I could return my K5 and demand a refund but why should I change camera brand if I am generally happy with Pentax? I would, however, like Pentax to come out and say yes we know of the issue and we are trying to sort it - not all the chinese whispers or user error comments...

Why can't they either confirm or deny if a firmware update will fix it or not...

Pinholecam I think you'll find I haven't posted any samples here before. Yes I get FF at low levels, hopefully the firmware update will rectify the issue. If not it goes back for replacement/repair.

Easiest work around for me is to use the slower Live View. Not always appropriate but works.

Fine it doesn't affect your photography, but don't disregard a fairly major issue because of that.

My £100 P&S camera can take photos inside with ease. My £1,000 camera can't because it front focuses in low light - thats a fairly major problem.

Please don't put down a problem just because you never see it in your type of photography.

Smeggy is complete correct here. If it was < EV2 and in yellowish light and specific lens as Christine states it would be easier to cope with. She's incorrect the K5 front focuses in less than EV4.
