This is something I saw advertised on facebook a couple of years ago. It's a 3D printed, extremely flexible dragon about 15 inches in length. I did a little additional painting and it now guards my computer monitor.

Yes, rubber lens hoods are great for eliminating reflections from glass. You can either buy 'proper' ones, or you could buy a collapsible dog bowl (I got mine from amazon), which is basically the same product but without the hole, which is easy enough to cut. When I bought mine, they were about half the price of a dedicated lens hood. And you may even get an embossed picture of a doggie in it, although most of it needs to be cut away.

My first SLR was a K1000 in 1979. I chose Pentax as it was a brand I'd seen advertised in National Geographic magazine, to which my Mum had a subscription. As a beginner, I found the K1000 easy to operate & understand, and when I could afford to do so, I traded up to the MX. I loved this camera and took photos of my sister's wedding, which established my reputation within the family as a good photographer. I had a brief flirtation with a Ricoh KR10, which was manual or auto exposure, but it didn't feel like a Pentax, so I got a Super A, then a P30, and finally an SFX. However, by this time, Pentax bodies were polycarbonate rather than metal and had lost the Pentax feel. My first digital Pentax came some time later- a *ist DL4, which got traded in for a K5, which had the old Pentax built like a tank quality. When the K1 was produced I lusted after it for some time before I could afford one, and it's continued to surprise me with its build quality, image quality and its ability to shoot hand-held at 1/20th of a second with a 70mm focal length lens. I absolutely love the K1- it may well be the last DSLR I'll ever own as it does everything I want it to do. With Pentax 15-30mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm & 150-450mm lenses I've got most situations covered. I also bought another MX and occasionally put a roll of film through it for old times' sake. Even if there's no film in it I like pressing the shutter button to feel and hear the precision with which it works. I've never been tempted to change brands- I've found that Pentaxes usually have more useful features than the competition (at a recent airshow I was near a couple of chaps with big Nikons, which got rapidly put back in their cases when the rain started, but my weatherproof Pentax just kept on shooting) and are usually less expensive than the competition. And I'm fortunate to live within easy distance of a specialist Pentax dealer which provides great service, useful advice and friendly chat.

I like No. 7, it tells a story and is not just a still life. It's a little low on contrast but I think the content outweighs any issues with technical details.

I've found that merely turning round occasionally and seeing what you may have passed from a different vantage point and in different light often results in good shots.

Sometimes it's worth getting up at 5am!
This was taken at 7.30 in the morning from my favourite spot for photographing Tower Bridge. The weather forecast predicted some cloud- it was light, but fortunately didn't extend to the horizon so the sun was below the clouds as it rose. I used an aperture of f29 in order to get a shutter speed of 15 seconds, though I would have preferred a 30 second exposure.

Hi all from me too! My first SLR was a K1000 back in 1979, and apart from a short fling with a Ricoh, I've been faithful to Pentax ever since (MX, P30 & SFX). My first DSLR was a *ist DL2 (it literally had my name on it, my initials being IST!) and last year I traded it in for a K-5, which is a truly excellent piece of kit, though you probably know that already.
I live in London and most weekends find me wandering around the City with the camera. I love long exposures of lights reflected in the Thames and have recently started doing panoramas of these, using Elements to stitch them together- so much easier than doing it manually!
I'm an enthusiastic amateur, though I've just done some paid work for the first time, which was interesting.
Looking forward to getting to know you!
