Hi, I have the K30 with WR 18-135mm lens. I am thinking of buying the new Pentax WR HD Rear Converter. Is anyone using this combo? I am trying to budget, would really prefer the DA* 60-250mm AND the Teleconverter, but not till I have more pennies in the piggybank. Looking forward to replies and or photo examples. Thanks

Hi, I was wondering if anyone experienced jerky video while still in camera. I noticed while shooting it this morning, it jerked. On playback, it certainly does. It was early morning, filming the tractor, with porch light and tractor light, in manual focus. I increased the EV to +3.
Not sure what happened, it never behaved this way before. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Deb:hmm:

Tried a Panasonic 8gb card without issue, just ordered and received a new SanDisk Extreme SDHC i Class 10 16GB card, and will try it on the K-30. Have not updated the firmware as of yet.

I just found a great deal at Costco on a DSLR Sling bag for my new Pentax K-30. I had just returned a Golla camera bag that was just too soft for my use, to the Source store. I then went to Costco for the Swiss bag advertised on the Costco website for $49. I walked in and right at the door was a $33.99 bag from National Geographic. Fits the new K-30 perfect with the 18-135mm lens with hood attached. Room to grow for a flash and another lens, and the usual items that you pac around. Here is a quick review I did on this bag if you are interested in seeing it. Just click on the link. Canada North - Life On and Off The Grid

Drain mine once a day. At first I thought it was because my camera was a demo and the battery might have gone dry at some point. So I now have a new one, charged battery full up, and shot 100 shots+ today and some video, and it is in the red again.

I have a new K30 with a Lexar Platinum 16 gb SDHC 200x class 10, and have memory card errors 6 times already, ranging from unable to store to just plain memory card error. I have removed the card, reinserted and all is well, till next time. It's usually when I'm asking more from the camera, beyond AUTO mode. Not sure if it's the card or the new K30. I think it's the card, as this K30 is a replacement for one I had last week. I have another AD card here that is only 100x, will try that.

For sure, but it does not hold. Have ordered a new body and battery, not a demo.

Hi there, I live on a ranch and do many landscape, nature and cattle shots, so your settings are a good place for me to practice. Yesterday I tried several shots a different settings, the same composition, but honestly, didn't make much sense yet.

Getting there, just finished watching a free workshop from London Drugs that came with my K30. We found it good and will rewatch a few times.

Just wondering, there are several online courses offered for specific cameras. Canon, Nikon, etc. I've looked, but not found any for Pentax. Does anyone know of one? Thanks, Deb:)

My first SLR, my beautiful K30. The menu is overwhelming. Toying with it, but wondered if anyone has advice on optimal menu/camera settings for a beginner on the K30? Thanks in advance, Deb in BC:)

Awwww, I wanted Blue, but none available. Hubby gave me mine early, when he saw that I was counting my pennies and checking online for the latest deals. Soooo happy!

Hi there, I also like the tilt out LED, have 3 other cameras with them. I closed the monitor and practiced using it that way to see if I could get used to it. I did on my Canon G12, and decided to go ahead with the K30. I got mine for Christmas early from hubby. London Drugs, excellent price match deal with the 18-135 mm WR lens. I loved it from the minute I held it in my hands. Secure, roomy, decisive. I also looked at the t4i and D5100. The viewfinder is awesome, never had a 100% before. Nice to have something different, Pentax has been around a very long time, plugging away in the background. I went to a tradeshow in Merritt, and there was a world renowned photographer there with a booth, and he said, he bought his wife a Pentax, and she never changed.

Hi, Nice to meet you. Are you still using the K30? Do you have an online photo gallery? We were in the Kootenays around Castlegar during June this year. Beautiful country, now in the Nicola Valley.
