DA 55-300 of course sharp at 300mm and its WR. If urgent please buy used sigma and you can sell it gain after Pentax launch135-400 DC WR.

For now i'm using SMC takumar 300mm f/4 for birding and still looking 400mm f/5.6. Since 2010 this range (120/135/150-380/400/450 or whatever) appears on roadmap it makes me waiting in vain.
Yup agree hope much better than DA 55-300 even below DA*60-250 f/4 cause this not * class.
Even optical performance same with DA 55-300 i'll buying it. Oowwwwhhh Pentax don't make me wait forever.

Keep your K200D. Buy one CMOS body (K-30/50 or K-5 any variant). CCD is different, you'll be missing K200D if you sold it.

Try Pandora Recovery. Last sunday my sdcard file system error. Its force me format sdcard, after format i'll try Pandora. 164 picture recovered.

Choose DAL if in the future you'll be upgrading to DA* 60-250. Choose DA if you don't want upgrade. Quick shift is important (this lens fucus hunt at long end and when low light).

Forget Sigma/Tamron 70-300, just go to DA or DAL 55-300 you don't need stopped down at 300m to get sharp photos.

Vote Pentax DA*60-250 for sharp at wide open and of course its WR. Sigma 70-200 soft at wide open.
