My $.02, and I don’t have any emotional attachment to these statements, simply my own observations. Crop sensor is out, everyone wants full frame. DSLRs aren’t going to sell well competing with MILC cameras. The K3iii has a few missing features that should have been incorporated into the design, namely, a fully articulating LCD, and the feature of being a full frame sensor. I know, I know, the K-1…
If I was a betting man I’d take this information, the questions asked by Ricoh in a recent customer survey, and add them up to make 4, which leads me to believe that either Ricoh is totally ramping down Pentax production to special order only, or complete discontinuance/dissolution, or they’re moving toward making the film camera and an MILC that uses a new mount, which could explain why new lens designs have slowed down.
Just some observations and speculations, don’t kill me… ---------- Post added 04-12-24 at 08:28 PM ---------- I’ll add, an MILC that mimics the designs of the original K series cameras, a vintage designed Pentax’s own version of the Nikon zF, if you will, would be an interesting offering.

One of the reasons I went with the S5 instead of, say, Sony, was the ability to PP in-camera. I shoot RAW + jpeg and if I feel the jpeg is good then I'll use it but more often than not I PP in-camera (WB, colour profile, exposure, shadows/highlights etc) and then pass the result to my phone and from there online. That's how I've done it with the K-3 and Fujifilm cameras and I wanted to be able to continue with FF mirrorless. The S5's in-built PP options are very good, the best I've used.
So the B&W images I have from it are all out-of-camera jpegs though most will have been post-processed in-camera, though of course you could set the camera up with these changes beforehand if you know exactly what you want. There are a few in my Flickr album for this camera, you can have a look here: Panasonic Lumix S5 | Flickr |

Warraber Island in the Torres Strait is very fond of its "lighthouse", the only light beacon on an inhabited island in the Torres Strait (allegedly).

Here is an evening shot of Seattle with the DA 20-40 ltd. Note the small but nice stars it produces at f9.
Second image is an HDR from the same location.

I forgot this thread was here, can't find any posts I've made in the thread so thought I better change that.
What prompted me was a bloke asking why the 15mm as he has the DA21. I have a 21mm lens and never thought of them as the same.
Anyhoo, here's the 15mm LTD on a K5 from a tumultuous day in Newcastle. Fishing at the Baths by noompty, on Flickr

Ticked off one from the bucket list, spinning steel wool at a frozen waterfall. The shoot went well, but the editing gave me fits, which you may have read about in this thread. I swear this lens is my go to for all things light painting.
