I finally post something again after a long while. Mainly working with Canon these days, barely with Pentax sadly.
Today, the 18th of August, for the La Vuelta the team presentation took place at Vredenburgplein and the area like shopping center Hoog Catharijne, this one was actually shot at the Catharijnesingel.
Utrecht is the only city in the world who held the start of the three big cycling competitions. Tour de France, Giro D'Italia and La Vuelta.

I often hear that during events. Already shooting for the media a couple of years. And a few years ago I had made a photo which was sold world wide. Even used in a live broadcast of CNN news. Now, the past 2 years or so, I see a lot of people being jealous that I still work with Pentax and sell photo's of accidents and events, and they are more often pleased to let me take a photo above others using Canon or Nikon.

Earlier this month the major found out a calf was named after him. It was a bit of a risk, due to bad light, to take a few shots. |

Yesterday a working day at the Gay Pride Walk in Amsterdam. Took the K5 and the K200 along with me. Used the K200 again for the first time in years. Not complaining about the quality which came from it. This is one of them, I don't mind the bus stop signs. And the flags are to show for every country in the world where gay/trans etc (rights) are forbidden and abused, there were around 72 flags: |

Nice shot. Possible to make it in panorama, in a stitch? Think it would've made it even better.

Bit of strange. Made during Elfia at Castle de Haar in April. Some people made extreme well costumes. Something else I found during my visit made by some-one which I find very well made. |

Just good. Animals are difficult and you just need to shoot when you see it.

It often does indeed. Just wait&watch around carefully. Sometimes it just doesn't happen, sometimes it is indeed worth waiting.

A man holding a rose. Changed the colors a bit as it was a bit overexposed. The guy was waiting in line at the farewell at the Concert building in Amsterdam last Friday morning. Also the guy kept walking, so it made it a bit unsharp as I had to keep walking as well. |

Nice! Would've tried at the 2nd photo to remove the trees on the left side, that's the only thing that is a bit of annoying. But great shots anyway!

Best way if you want to stay in Amsterdam is to take the train from Schiphol Airport. Every few minutes a train departs from platforms 1 or 2(which are next to eachother). Other posebility is the tram or bus to Amsterdam central station. Taxi's are a disaster especially in the city center. So it is a walk either way. Thankfully a lot of hotels are near a bus or tram stop. Another possebility is a B&B, often very good, and often a bit cheaper then a hotel(also they do their best a lot more to make it comfortable to you then hotels in my opinion so you come back quicker), through this site it is safe to book: Bed and Breakfasts Amsterdam | Bed & Breakfast Netherlands, if you keep prefering a hotel in city center or just out, keep in mind there is a lot of walking with luggage. The best way to travel in Amsterdam is by walking or public transport(or take a bicycle when you putted your luggage away). Taxi's and cars are a disaster, especially in the center as people keep walking a lot through red light and why often taxi's can't get you to your destination. And as long as you stay with your luggage, there are barely any problems as long as you keep your eyes on it/stay put on it. If you don't, well, be prepared someone will call the police due to luggage left unattended. Also your camera bag, put it on your suitcase, or if you can sit, on your knees, also, put your wallet in it if you have it in your back pocket of your pants so you can keep an eye on it.

One tip: Try to lay your camera instead of a standing photo. Other then that, good shot!

He was very concetrated yesterday during a ceremony. Perhaps not 100% correct, but next to his left there was a guy standing, so if I would've stood in his front, this guy was somehow on the photo. And this is something different again. |
