01 kit I bought from hsn.com and 02 kit I bought from shopnbc both had the lens manuals in the box.

If it sits with no battery the date/time settings reset to default so it might be worth a shot to remove the battery for 24 hours before sending it back for replacement or in for repair.

Thinking back several years ago the first original version I bought was not quite right, can't recall the issue. I emailed the next day after I received it and told him about the problem and he replaced it with one that was fine...
If there is an issue with your mount it might be worthwhile to contact him.

I bought the original version from Photosolve a number of years ago and used it on my dmcfz30 with a BSA RD30, fit fine on my Q.

Pentax seems to have committed themselves to supporting the Q system, so hopefully the lenses and adapter will not be marked down and sold at closeout prices for many years.
$269.00 with free shipping for the Pentax 06 Telephoto Zoom 15-45mm f/2.8 Lens 22157 B&H Photo seems to me to be a decent price since the 06 has not been out long.

Congratulations!
Did shopnbc pack it well?
My Q was shipped 3 Day Select on the 18th, one day delay by UPS shipping it then on the 23rd a "Transportation accident occurred" in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
UPS then proceeded to send it to the wrong processing center and has now been rescheduled delivery on 12/27.
Three shipping issues with one package seems a bit much to me.
Hope shopnbc packed it well as UPS has either no idea of of what the "Transportation accident" was or won't tell me. Seriously thinking of returning it as I am concerned about what damage may have happened in the "Transportation accident" even if the box is not damaged.

Mine has not arrived from shopnbc yet, currently lost in the UPS system, but the specs listed at dpreview Pentax Q: Digital Photography Review state the Q does not have an orientation sensor.

Mine, shipped from Nashville TN 3 day select, was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, the 21st, but shopnbc did not get it to UPS for another 20 hours after they shipped (printed the label) UPS updated the delivery day to Monday the 24th.
BTW " Due to holiday volume, UPS Ground delivery guarantees are suspended until December 26, 2012. All other guaranteed UPS Services will be delivered within 90 minutes of the normal commit time."

Oops, I did mean shopnbc.
Did not work at all? Does not sound promising, perhaps a defective card? All my SD cards are older and 2G, hopefully one will work in the Q.

Ordered the Q off of HSN, although would like both the 01 prime and the 02 lenses but at the price HSN is selling it for I cannot complain even if Pentax never officially offers the prime separately.
Is the SD card that ships from HSN good enough to check out the Q with? I realize it is too slow for video but hoping that it will be okay for initially playing with the camera then buying a faster card off newegg or ? next month.
