It's been a while since i poked my head in here. Unfortunately haven't been shooting as much as I like.
This one's been keeping me busy:

The 28-105 is definitely my go-to lens, especially for travel. Only occasionally comes off for the 77 or 31 |

I've just place my order for the K-1!!
Very excited, and can't wait for it to arrive!
I just had to tell someone.:D
To make this post relevant, here's a runway shot with the K-5 & 77mm from earlier this week :p
Hopefully K-1 brings a big improvement in the AF.C tracking.. |

Cheers Matt!
I think the 15mm is perfect for the halo. The 18-135 didn't quite get the entire glow of the halo in.
Plus the 15mm comes with the bonus starburst effect too!

It's been a while since my 15mm spent some time on the camera.
Took it out tonight when I saw a really cool 22 degree halo around the moon.
For anyone who wants to know, this ring surrounding the Moon is caused by the refraction of Moonlight (which is really reflected sunlight) through ice crystals suspended in the upper atmosphere between 5-10 km in altitude. Moonlight passes through one facet of the ice crystal, and is then refracted back out at exactly the angle of 22-degrees. Why Do We Sometimes See a Ring Around the Moon? - Universe Today |

What do you mean by a manual lens? I was shooting 18-135 and fa77, both had this issue
This is exactly it. Except mine was in the hot-shoe not off-camera.
Was yours just a once off or has it happened regularly?

Hi all,
I was shooting an event last night and my flashgun started playing up on me.
While in pTTL mode, it seems to be randomly throwing a shot at full blast no matter what I change the settings to be. I usually dial it down to -2ish, but maybe every 10th-15th shot, it'll shoot a full power flash.
I've tried turning it on and off, different batteries, different lens.
I'm shooting on a K-5 on either M or Av.
Has anyone else had this problem before?
This has never happened in the 2 years I've owned the flash. Could it be a dodgy capacitor?

Hi all,
I've got a 600W strobe head, and a 60x90cm (2x3ft) softbox.
I'm wondering if there's a way to find out how much area the strobe will light up? (besides trial and error)
I've got a 4.5m backdrop I need to cover. I'm thinking if I crank up the power, and move it a couple meters away, that should be enough?

The shot of Krystel is gorgeous. I love the lighting - it really brings out the contours of her cheek and jaw

Erm, it was somewhere inbetween. My partner and I were walking across a really cool bridge in Melbourne (Webb Footbridge), and I got her to model for me
:p I think so too, but of course, I'm a bit biased

The guy with the 70-200 next to me was working up a sweat, while I was next to him with the small and light 77mm
I am extremely happy with the results. Lexi Clothing by Clinton Phosavanh, on Flickr

Alright, this one was taken by the 100mm, but I had to show off the lens, didnt I?
Nothing overly impressive, but I've had this lens for half a day, and I love it!
Looking forward to sharing future shots with you all!

Haven't taken the 15 out for a while unfortunately. Will try to make more of an effort :)
In the mean time, here's one from a few months back when I visited Seoul |

Love the down-to-earth nature of the article.
I was told, before you're an artist, you're an accountant, a marketer and a customer services person. Just shooting good shots isn't enough.

My favourite medium to use is Pixieset. Functionality is all there, and the price is fair too. Plus no commission (when you're on their paid plans)
