Some wonderful images here. I personally favour #4 for it's "Hopperesque" feel but they are all good.

Has happened twice since the last post.On both occasions the camera "jammed" ~ wouldn't do anything at all then wouldn't switch off but worked fine after battery removal and replacement.

Hello Ponosby... I refer you to my previous post...Yes thanks Adam... I guess that to a certain extent this a computing device with a lens attached so not all that surprising. I did upgrade the firmware using the link provided here but haven't noticed any other problems so far.

However this "Welcome to the modern world" stuff is a bit patronising... is it unreasonable for folks to expect that a unit should work as advertised? I mean if Pentax promote their camera as a great unit but subject to the odd glitch which you might just have to put up with then all well and good but these shortcomings are not mentioned specifically to my knowledge... unless they are in small print somewhere.
I think that part of the purpose of this forum is to monitor Pentax products and exchange experiences... this does not necessarily imply a naive state of mind. |

Yes although I thought it was possibe that the battery might have been low it wasn't showing low charge at the time and worked for several hours after the event... from memory. It hasn't happened since mind you so I'm not overly worried. This isn't right obviously so I suspect further firmware upgrades may sort it out. Hope so.

I've been enjoying my K5IIs ... however came across a problem today where the camera froze... shutter button wouldn't work and camera would not switch off. Had to remove battery to achieve this. I was using a DA 35 2.8 limited lens at the time. Any comments please?

Thank you for that article which I have just discovered as a new member. Shame that only one of the images is available.

Hello and thank you for your reply... I don't think the 135mm would be adequate although the WR would be desirable. I will think about what you have said although availability of that old 18-250 Tamron Lens over here looks a bit scarce.

I'm on the point of purchasing a K5 and this looks like a pretty good lens for the money... it's retailing at just under £300.00 gbp in the UK at one or two places. There isn't much information about this lens on the site that I've found ...has anyone got opinions to offer please?
I'm looking to do some birding photography btw.

Thanks for your reply Adam... I've just been looking at this and figure it could be a good option as a "walkaround" lens with a good macro facility? SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.8 Limited Macro |

Hello everybody... I'm on the point of purchasing a Pentax K5 and have joined this forum for some helpful info... I'm looking to do some wildlife/birding photography and also some macro stuff. I would be grateful for any advice on lenses and as my budget isn't going to run to more than £1000 gbp in total this is a tight remit ... any thoughts?
