I've had the same problem, taking photos at a Color Run 5k, Just quit recording the photos. Both cards were set on jpeg, shut the camera off, removed the cards and reinserted one card and continued to shoot.
The reason I realized that they weren't being recorded was a message appeared on the screen saying that the photos weren't being recorded, not a good situation when you're being paid to take these photos.

Probably been asked before, sorry if it has been, is there any particular reason that Pentax seems to recommend using a white card instead of a gray card to set custom white balance?
