Thank you! When conditions are right the light can be magical there.

Thank you for letting us know. Unfortunately, the main issue for my use case remains: the USB transfer of Pixelshift files is still broken. The transferred file is seen as containing only three subimages and consequently cannot be decoded as Pixelshift (tested with ACR and RawTherapee). The same file as written to the SD card has exactly the same size but works as it should. So the workaround also remains: use the transferred files for visual feedback but process the files that are written to SD.

You clearly need a reversal development. But stay away from cross processing.

Congratulations, what a beauty! I find the zebra Auto Takumar to be much nicer than the later 55/1.8 versions.

I may have posted this before but can’t find a note about it in the last few years.

Good luck with the repair! You have my full respect. The deepest I got into a camera was fixing a bent shutter release contact on a 645 that had been dropped on its hand grip, and replacing the finder window on a Z-1p. Shutters are way beyond what I dare to touch.

All that this proves is that I have been more of a role model for my son than you for your daughters... :p But seriously, my point is that rather than anecdotal evidence, solid market research is needed. I’m sure that Pentax/Ricoh are doing theirs, as are the other camera makers.

I have a 24 years old son who picked up a Pentax K-3 at age 15, grabbed my 645 for several years and has friends who let him shoot their Hasselblad… which is probably as little representative as your example.

Don’t wait. The K-3 Super is already here, and has been for a few years.

Edit: I just noticed I posted this twice. Sorry for the blunder, I need to better keep notes.

Baking bread, High Atlas, Morocco, September 1997. Z-1p with smc Pentax-FA* 1:2 24mm IF AL on Kodak Ektacolor Pro Gold 400 (GPY) film. I posted this before years ago but this is a new and better scan. The tripod I used here is still living in the High Atlas and we meet every couple of years. 97031_23 Baking bread, High Atlas, Morocco, September 1997 by Wolfgang Kraus, on Flickr

Well done! I like a bit of restraint in processing.

I also like it a lot on APS-C – not the sharpest lens but wonderful rendering especially close up.
