I muddled my non-tech butt through firmware updates on my K-5, Q, and K-01 but I'm not doing any on my K-S2 unless they fix the wifi connection problem.
IMO it's the one that needs fixing the most.

Update to my post above:
Both K-S2 cameras show live view on the iPhone Image Sync app.
Neither of them show live view on the app on several android devices, the icon is always greyed out, even though the remote control functions work OK.
My conclusion - the Android Image Sync app is broken on some Android versions. All the phones and tablets we've tried have been Android 5.1 upwards, with a Nexus 5 running Android 6.0
Redimp, if I can help to get this working in any way, in collaboration with you/Ricoh, please let me know.

If you think it's hard being a Pentax owner, try shooting with Samsung! Nobody ever take me serious with my Samsung until they see my shots and even then most are sceptical.
I do get fed up of the 'Why don't you buy a Canon/Nikon?' comments though. Usually from the Canon/Nikon people who buy the entry level body with a single kit lens who then go on to think they are David Bailey after a month of ownership.
I've been loyal to the k-mount for 20yrs and can't see it changing anytime soon. Shoot with what you know, get to know its strengths and work with it, and work around it weaknesses!

I think Professional means they charge more and since if one is a "Professional" they would be obligated to pay it.

A professional camera is more about ego and attitude than anything else.
The term professional is normally based upon making a living at something, therefore the term is somewhat meaningless. As opposed to entry level, which means a beginner camera, the only other term should be advanced, implying it requires skill to use.
As for specific models and full frame vs APS-C,
There are a ton of pros who shoot APS-C and JPEG, are they any less professional, no.
Go back to the beginning, every camera, is a professional camera, because I can guarantee there is somebody out there making a living with it. The term is useless

I just checked my email and found the latest newsletter from B&H. It had the announcement of the release of the Nikon D5300. I noticed that one of the features was that it didn't have an AA filter. Really? Hmm...what other camera company had a camera without an AA filter? Oh...and I also noticed that the D5300 comes in colors. Really? Didn't folks laugh when some other camera company started releasing their cameras in various colors quite a while back? It seems to me that once you've managed to get the big boys to start following your lead, you must be headed in the right direction.

As Reivax says, it needs to be Pentax compatible, not all are.
I don't believe there is a model called "ST Super". There are two different models. The ST has P-TTL but is otherwise a very basic model. The Super is a higher priced model with the features the ST lacks (HSS, off-camera use, control or controlled by a second flash).

My 610 DG ST Super works OK in P-TTL on my K-30 but it has the bounce flash issue that K-5s have, i.e. as soon as the head is tilted even slightly it overexposes about 1 stop. I only use bounce flash so it's not really a problem to me, I keep -1EV compensation dialled in on the flash permanently and exposures are consistent thereafter. HSS sort of works, it seems to allow fast shutter speeds but has little control over exposure so the non-Super Sigma 610 without HSS would be just as good and a lot cheaper I would say.

This was an exceptional buy. This flash will function in PTTL and not just TTL as listed.

It seems that this thread is a bit of a rite of passage on this site, so I thought I would contribute.
Jeez... I see another Pentax every other time I go out. I actually shared a coffee with a nice Korean tourist a while back on account of the fact that we were both carrying K-x's. My home town is a bit of a tourist stop, so there are always lots of DSLR's on the street and while easily ninety percent are Canikons with the balance being a smattering of Leica, Sony and Pentax... I still see Pentax a fair bit. Quite memorably, in September last year I was shooting at a medieval fare when a French bloke tapped me and waved his K-5. We spent the rest of the afternoon shooting together... and he had a pro-bag FULL of Ziess and Pentax * glass. The brief samples I took with that glass did nothing to assist my LBA! Lovely stuff. I value those experiences more than I would seeing ten thousand Pentaxes dangling from the necks of tourists.
But I digress.
So... my take is that yes Pentax is rare, but that should be no surprise. Going by these posts, most of us seem to have arrived here by one of three paths. The first are those who shot Pentax in the film days, the second are those that inherited Pentax gear, and the third are those that arrived during the digital age after plenty of hard research revealed Pentax as superior value. There is no room in that mix for the average consumer who wanders into a mainstream store and asks the sales assistant what they should get. Also, there is not much room in that mix for the aspiring pro who may well recognize the competitiveness of Pentax gear but sees Canikon as safer overall SYSTEMS with which to advance their careers (hard to argue with that, actually). Consumers and wannabe pros account for the vast majority of DSLRs seen hanging around necks. Thus... we see ten Canikons for every other type of DSLR out there.
So, as I see it Pentax appeals to a very, very narrow niche of discerning enthusiasts and sentimentalists, somewhere off to the side of the normal spectrum ranging from brand-conscious consumer, up to gear-headed "prosumer" and then through to pragmatic professional.
I for one, hope this never changes. While I wish Pentax well and certainly a bit more market share wouldn't hurt to ensure the company's survival, I sincerely hope that Pentax never resorts to the mass-marketing ploys, vapour-ware announcements and lego-brick upgrade paths of Canikon. I do hope they continue to offer quirky alternatives as well as good solid cameras built to high photographic standards rather than the banal demands of the marketeers and product managers.
In the meantime, I will revel in the knowledge that wherever I am in the world, if I see another Pentax I can raise mine, smile and know I am in the company of a fellow traveler. Can't do that with a Canikon. Well, I could... but I'd be grinning and waving a camera a lot, and people wouldn't know what for:).

Just wondering if there are any young (as in 16 and under) Pentaxian's here on the forums?
If so, please do post! :)
Well, I'm 14 and have been shooting since Oct. 08! :)

I would think the af360fgz is still going to be your best bet used - should be available under $150 in good condition. Might want to wait a little, as this flash is being replaced so there might be more used ones on the market from those upgrading.

I got it with the same combo of 18-55mm WR + 50-200 WR ... no regrets after running around the fresh snow that came down yesterday :)

The K-30 may have changed the codes it uses in the EXIF. PhotoME hasn't been updated in a while...
