I think I have it down to the GRII and the Coolpix A. Both are within $20 of each other. Might just stick with the GR because I am familiar with it.

I have a GR that I love but I have the dreaded shutter issue. From my research it seems it is not worth fixing so I am seeking advice on a replacement.
I don't keep up with the latest gear so looking for advice. Should I get a GRII wait for the GRIII or get something else?

K5II help indoors, lens help as well

Thank you for all the help so far. As far as lenses go I own only primes (fa77, dfa100 and da300) and I would probably like to keep it that way.

I am looking at the fa43 the sigma art 35 or thinking about waiting for the new dfa 50. My thinking is the 35 or 43 would be a better fit but I never shoot this wide so I don't know. Eventually I might go FF so I would like lenses that would transfer.
I have no issues on spending good money on lenses but I need one that works in low light and has fast focus. Plus my skills for sure need work.

As far as SR I tremble a lot and I need all the help I can get, I am thinking of getting a monopod for these events.

EDIT
Here is an example shot of the distance and lighting. This was with the fa77.

I have a K5II that I purchased years ago for outdoor shooting. As a result the shortest lens I have is a fa77.

Recently my daughter has been doing some indoor sports activities and I am finding the 77 is not working well. I am also having a hard time with the autofocus and blur on many shots.

So I am seeking help on 2 things.

1 -- Settings on the camera that I can do to help get more in focus shots
2 -- A great lens for indoor shooting at closer distance than the fa77. To add the lighting in these places is horrible and often very yellowish looking, think like conference halls were lights are not florescent.

I will add I am willing to get a new body if that's what it takes but overall I am happy with the K5II

Thanks

B&H just got a lens back in stock that I ordered on black Friday
It is going to arrive the day after I leave on extended vacation. I am sad :(

Just wanted to vent a little. Things could be worse. On the bright side now it won't break in my luggage LOL

Merry Christmas all

Cool. I have been there a few times. We used to go to Prague every October for a small hockey tournament. I always had lots of fun. One year we traveled around the whole country and had a blast, especially at Bořetice where we were welcomed like kings. :)

No problem Rupert, I enjoyed the reply. I also know what it is like being out of commission for awhile. I just had surgery on my shoulder 8 weeks ago and I was incapacitated for some time.

Here is what I found here locally and picked up today. Based on prices in the marketplace I got a good deal. I am happy but aggravated that the battery in my camera is dead. Unlike the GR I guess the k-5II does not charge off the computer LOL :)

Sorry about that Jim. I was going to spell BF out, perhaps I should have.

Anyway, took my k5 to the rink today being as I can't play because of an injury. I definitely need a lot of work on my sports shooting. I have 2 weeks and then I can play again.. Can't wait
