So I called them and they told me to just send it in. The lady that was helping me said that when updating the firmware, it should be fast and should not be hanging on the "Now Loading" screen. Hopefully they can fix it because I've started to really enjoy the world of photography since this is my first DSLR camera :)

I know about the battery thing since I've been successful at updating my firmware in the past, but for some reason it just didn't work. I'll call the people at Pentax and see what they can do. Just gotta hope for the best!! :o

So I was trying to update my k30 with the new 1.05 firmware and the first time around it was stuck on the "Now Loading" screen for more than 3 hours. I waited for the battery to die and tried to update my firmware again. It happened again with the "Now Loading" Screen and so I left it aside for the battery to die again, but now my camera won't turn on at all, even with a fresh new battery and sd card. I'm not sure what happened and it would be heartbreaking if I can't fix my camera. Could anyone help me?

I also received this email this morning about my order being canceled even though I ordered on 8/13.
+1 on not getting any email from them about canceling my order. I was patient enough to wait until my order shipped and hope all would end well but now it seems like I won't be getting my first prime lenses. I had hopes for getting both 35 &50 lenses since Jennifer told me that the lenses were "out of stock and will not ship for 2-3 weeks." A simple email from them saying as to why it got canceled would be fine for me but now it looks like I have to go back to my original plan of buying only the 35 from B&H :(

I was aiming at only getting the 35, but at those prices I just had to get both!! Can't wait for them to come in!!:D

Aloha Everyone!!
My name is Arvin and I am from O'ahu, Hawaii and I am fairly new to DSLR cameras and photography.
Previous cameras I have used/owned are a Sony point and shoot and a Nikon cybershot. I now own a white K-30 with the standard kit lens and just recently bought the 18mm-135mm lens. The K-30 is my very first DSLR and I gotta say I love this camera. I did lots of research on what camera I should buy as a entry level DSLR and decided on the K-30 (although my sister tried to convince me to get Canon instead :p). I don't plan to be a professional, but I want learn the different things such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO to be able to take good photos because I travel places with my family a lot.
