I got the white solenoid out of my K10d last week, it was as easy as pie. In the interim I did some practice soldering (just on wires I had laying around), then I took the battery out of my K70 3 days ago. I finally got to following your instructions this afternoon. Took me a while, the K70 was much harder to open than the K10d was. I was able to remove the green solenoid and replace it with the white. Soldering was tough, but I tested the wires by pulling on them with my tweezers. Took a couple of tries to get the MF/AF thingamabob to line up. The camera's all put back together again and no underexposed frame with optical, and no overexposed frame with live view. Thank you Photogem!
Non-K70 related, but Pentax related. I pulled out my K50 and used it over the last week (I bought it in 2014, shot probably 40-50,000 exposures, no aperture problem...so far!) I realized that 2 lenses I bought and only used on my K70 (a 20-40 limited and a 15 limited) both required beyond -10 AF correction. When using live view I get perfect AF, but those two lenses are off the scale when I try to do corrections on them. I'm going to have to see how some of my other lenses are, maybe I just never noticed the camera is off.
Still, happy to have my K70 working again!

The one I tend to take with me more than any other lens would be my 21 f3.2 Limited. I own the older "green" one rather than the newer HD "red" one, On APS-C either one would be my choice for best all round lens.
If I owned a full frame, I'd definitely say the 31 Limited would be it. I don't own full frame, nor the 31.
