This is a spot I have been to many times. I have always seen possibilities here. This time of year the sunset shows itself. So i came down to photograph one of many amazing South Carolina Sunsets Afterwards, I looked up at the bridge and thought Ahh, there it is, one of the possibilities . Took a few shots at F22 to get the thirty second exposure i was looking for. Shem creek is where all the shrimp boats dock when they are not out working. A popular destination for locals and Tourists in the summer also. There is always so much going on here..

First time trying the k1 with my 70-200 and the 1.4 extender. the vignetting is pretty minor in some photos, others have to be cropped. These Avocets are in their breeding plumage which makes them extra special. The little birds following them are Yellow legs

These seagulls were not posing for me although it sort of looks like it, they were waiting for fresh fish guts being tossed into the marina by some fishermen cleaning fish

Hi, I have not posted a photo here in years, I have moved to South Carolina and have been trying to capture it in photography as much as possible. Thought I would start by sharing this lucky dog sunset looking into the Charleston harbor from the town of Mount Pleasant. I was pleased when this spaniel jumped into my sunset and just sat there and posed for me.
Thanks

this was a morning of reflections . I have been trying to be more aware of lighting lately and this just topped the cake for me. All these images were taken between 6:30 and 8 am Skimmers, roseatte spoonbills and woodstorks, all with mirror reflections. I have included probably too many pictures but couldn't decide. My first time after many attempts to get a perfect skimmer line also.. These ones were right in front of me though over and over

I found this pretty painted bunting yesterday splish splashing in the bird bath. Looks like his paint is running But I am sure he does not mind. Its hot out. These birds spend their winters in South America and stay in parts of Florida all year, They come up here to south Carolina and few other southern states(Texas in on) to spend spring and summer for breeding, The male is gorgeous with watercolor feathers and the female is a pale lime green.

Yes they are if you know where to go to find them. it helps to know their song and their habitat
They are so pretty sitting on a tree or branch.
