I've been lurking about for several months, figured I should finally register.
Now I feel obligated to tell how I got here...
I've had a bit of an interest in photography for a really long time, but point and shoot cameras never really got me into it. Just last fall I took a B&W photography course at my university, and used my father's old Pentax ME Super, and I completely fell in love with it. I think it was because using a nearly full-manual SLR forced me to actually build an image rather than simply take a picture, if that makes any sense.
Since I don't have the resources or space to build my own darkroom, digital made sense. I considered cameras from all the big names, and ended up going with the K10D because of the price and the lenses I already had from my dad's kit. Also got a DA 16-45 so I have at least ONE autofocus lens, and I've been pretty impressed with the few images I've taken, both with the 16-45 and the old M50/1.7.
So now I'm digital, with a decent kit to start out with, and I'm looking forward to being part of the community! :cool:
Now I just need to fend off the LBA, I can already feel the tug and I've only had this thing for about a week...
