There was really only one post that offended me, and that was the post that I quoted. I thanked everyone else for their input and in addition the same person who's initial post offended me apologized and offered some quality advice. So, I apologize if my post offended you, and again, I thank everyone for their advice, it is truly appreciated! :):)

I own quite a few primes currently and I love them but I don't have any of the limited lenses or DA*'s yet. I think I'm going to have to get at least one of them since so many people recommend them.

I appreciate everyone's recommendations, but there seems to be a running theme that bothers me whenever I look at any post asking for lens recommendations. 1. There is such a thing as a "professional" lens. If there wasn't, no one would shell out the money to buy better glass, they'd just stick with their kit lenses and be happy. 2. Just because I am looking to upgrade some of my gear does not mean that I don't know what I'm doing or that I am not pleased with the results I am already getting. You don't know me or anything about the things I have accomplished as a photographer. 3. Conversely, just because someone gets fantastic results using a cheap, garbage lens does not mean that they would not get even better results using some of the high quality glass that is available to us.

I hope that this reply has not offended anyone, but at the same time, I am a little offended when people assume I don't know what I'm doing because I want to upgrade a few of my lenses.

I mainly shoot outdoors, portraits and landscapes alike, although I prefer shooting landscapes. I do some studio work as well.

If you're looking for longer reach, you could try the Sigma 170-500mm. For the price you can't beat it at that length.

Thanks for your input! I was looking into some of the Limited lenses. I don't own any of them yet, and I know they have quite an impressive reputation. I appreciate your recommendation, even though I titled the post "Best 50mm", really I'm just looking for any great/best "Normal" prime.

I've heard good things about the "Art" Lenses. I heard that Sigma is beginning to break ties with Pentax, I'm a little bummed out about that. I own several Sigma lenses and I'm quite pleased with all of them.

I'm looking to upgrade some of my lenses to more "Professional" type lenses. What can everyone recommend? I know the DA* lenses are supposed to be excellent. It doesn't need to be only Pentax lenses though, I would like to hear opinions about any lenses you may recommend. I recently purchased a Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC HSM and a Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX Macro HSM, but I'm looking for a few more ideas.

Hello fellow Pentaxians! In your opinions, if I already have the DA 50mm 1.8, the FA 50mm 1.4 and a Takumar 50mm 1.4, should I bother buying the DA* 55mm 1.4? Will I see any significant difference in IQ or bokeh?

So, side note: If I get myself a MX, do I go silver or black?

I wish I had that kind of money laying around! That is a SERIOUS camera... Based on the price alone, I'm not sure you could call it a "must have" though.

Good morning all! I am a long time Pentaxian :D and ever since my dad brought home a brand new K1000 when I was a kid, I have become obsessed. I own several Pentax cameras, but I was wondering what everyone thought of as the Pentax "Must Haves"?

Right now, my collection consists of:
Spotmatic
ME Super
K1000
ZX 50
K200d
K20d
K5

Do I have any glaring holes in my collection that anyone can think of?
