Seems as though I have nothing to worry about. I thought something had failed inside the camera since I had had no problem in the past. I always used the cap on my ME supers. I thought things were different with a dslr. Thanks forr everyones help.

Hello All, I'm new to the forum and after reading many of them, there seems to be many knowlegeable people here. I hope someone sees this that can give me some insite on my problem. After using my K20 for about a year, it began reading light thru the view finder. If the light behind the camera is stronger than where I'm shooting, I get a darkened result. This happens in any of the mode settings and with live view on or off. The easy fix is to cap the view finder when using a tripod, and only shoot thru the view finder and not use the lcd. Is there something inside the camera that flipes up the moment I touch the chutter release that blocks the light through the view finder? Has that has stopped working? If so, can it be repaired? If not, what else could be the problem? Thank you for any help and info.
