I forget the model but I got it sorted anyway. Turn everything 180 then turn the flash head. simple.

I do, but I haven't quite figured this out, does this mean I only need one trigger on top of the camera then ?

I bought a portable softbox for my speedlights but have discovered that I can't put the speedlight and trigger on the mount at the same time as the triggers are too long and stop the speedlight from going on all the way.

My triggers are Yongnuo RF 603'.

Anyway of getting around this, aside from buying smaller triggers as this will cost more money.

Cheers

EDIT: nevermind. my friend suggested putting them on backwards with the flash and rotating the head. this should work

cheers everyone. Ended up going with the Sigma Super. Have to work out all the settings now. One of the modes puts my shutter down to 1/90 and doesn't let me go any higher. any reason why this is ?

I'm young I can work my way around controls.

I've found a Sigma EF-610 DG ST for £109. Is this the same thing ?

edit: Found a super for £139. As far as I can tell the super can do rear curtain and such.

I've seen the metz. Do they do HSS, I've read their TTL mode can be inconsistent.

Looking for a flash compatible with my KR. I currently have a yungnuo 560 iii but want a flash that can do TTL and HSS.

Found a PENTAX AF 360FGZ for £99 but it only has a tilt head which is a bummer. Looking at about £150 for a budget and don't mind if I have to buy second hand.

Cheers guys.

With all due respect I don't see any flags. I don't think any photographer wants to use kit lens. The money I will be using to get a flash and 17-70 is my income.

I don't generate paid jobs because I feel like I am restricted with equipment but once I improve with what I have , I will also have more confidence to shoot more things.

I should be out everyday shooting and in all honesty I am lazy and I am aware of this. Once I am out though I love shooting.

I appreciate everyone's comments. I think I am getting the 17-70 and a pentax flash or a metz if they do HSS

I just haven't advertised myself yet as I lack the confidence. I have done a few shoots but those we are all unpaid.

I feel like my equipment I have is holding me back, but I am aware that I won't get anywhere unless I do start doing shoots , it's hard to find paid work anywhere nowadays.

That 17-70 shot is lovely. I may have to just go with that lens

I agree but if I make it monthly payments it means I can afford it right now and start doing more shoots right now and it's interest free so not paying anything on top.

www.facebook.com/kierandegnanphotography is where all my stuff is at. Only ever done one paid job and that was being a second shooter at a wedding.

any reason why you say this ?

I was considering buying used as that means I wouldn't have to pay monthly with finance but wasn't sure if I'd get the same use out of used since I don't know where it has been

I think I have been convinced to buy better glass rather than a new body. Will have a look at the 17-70. I potentially could get another lens but think I might get a flash instead.

That makes sense too. I'm hoping for it to be my profession. This will be my 3rd year studying it and will hopefully go on to uni. I don't know how the loans work elsewhere but we only pay back our loans when we earn like 16000 a year and then it's only a fraction of the monthly wages.

One of the reasons I was considering getting the K5 was this may be one of the only times I can afford to get a new body.

UK £

Aha not if you think I could make that from it.

Hmm that makes sense yes. I think I may just buy an 18-135 and either buy a metz flash that has TTL or go for the Pentax AF360. Not sure what other kind of lens I would want.

Appreciate it everybody replying.

I will be getting the camera on finance with the glass so the money really isn't too much of an issue.

The KR isn't holding me back but I feel the K5 would last me much longer once I am finished college. While I am at college I have access to canon' and every focal length available but I would rather have my own equipment to shoot with.

I priced selling the KR with the lenses excl the 35mm and think I would get about 140 for that.

I think I potentially have my heart set on the K5, 18-135 and the 100-17 just so I have the focal lengths I would probably need covered.

Decisions , decisions.

I'm not even sure if this is the best place to put this but as I currently on a KR it shall go here.

Also I feel like all I do is ask questions on here, you guys will be glad I don't post a lot.

Anyhoo as of right now I currently shoot with a K-R with a 18-55, 35mm 2.4 and 50-200.

I will be going back to college in a few weeks and my first payment is a big payment so I am looking to expand my pentax equipment but my question is should I go for a new camera or just expand on lenses. Now I am aware this is all subject to what I shoot, what I would need out of the equipment but lets talk for general sake here.

I was looking at potentially getting a K5II with an 18-135 lens and then possibly buying a 10-17 or just a 50 1.8.

or should I just keep the KR but get more lenses and a pentax flash that has TTL and HSS. I know the K5 is weather sealed which is a huge advantage but then again how much do I shoot in extreme weather ? but on the flip side having it weather sealed would give me that option eh.

Apologies for the rant, but if you had the cash what would you guys do ?

Appreciate it.

been in a few times, always found their prices a tad high but might double check since I can physically see the lenses.

As far as I am aware there isn't too many places you can simply walk in and purchase pentax lenses, at least here in Scotland.

Is there anywhere people go specifically to buy there lenses? excl Jessops.

I never shoot street photography but we had nice weather here which never happens so went to the riverside museum and took a few snaps.
Not sure if these even qualify as street photography. Normally only find time to shoot college briefs so it made a nice change.
