A similar issue occured with my k-x after a fairly bad drop. I never bothered to get it fixed because it was several years old and I had recently upgraded to a k5, however one afternoon I decided to pull the cameras casing apart in the off chance that that the damage might be visable and fixable. I found that the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the circuit board had jolted out of its socket. After putting it back in and reassembling the casing the camera and LCD powered up without a problem and is still working fine after 6 or so months. Certainly wouldn't recommend pulling pulling apart your camera though, a mistake or slip of the hand could do some serious damage, but yeah just a thought as to what it might be.

Even though I have upgraded to a k5 now, I am still extremly happy with the k-x and still use it every now and then. My k-x was my first venture into dslr photography and was a great simple camera to learn on, without being overwelmed by complex menus and button layouts. However in saying that, this camera still packed quite a punch, with many great features that easily made it one of the best entry level dslr availible at the time. If I had to give it a bad wrap, it would be for the lack of auto-focus confirmation in the viewfinder and the lack of the second control dial

Hi everyone,
My name is Daniel, I live in Brisbane and am currently studying engineering at QUT. During my down time from study and other commitments I love nothing more then to pick up my camera and spend a weekend traveling around taking pictures. A hobby that I truely love and enjoy.
I have been a pentax user for 4 years, in that time I owned a kx, which was my introduction to dslr photography. And as of mid last year I moved up to a k5 which I find truely a pleasure to shoot with, and has rewarded me with many nice photos during my travels. I look forward to sharing these photos and engaging in the pentax community
thanks,
Daniel Marshall
