It was taken on a canal side walk with the temp around 0 degrees and the low sun coming from behind light the ice as it melted making these beautiful water droplets

I have been trying my hand at Motorsport Photography using a K-30 & SIGMA 120-400 OS , and got some good results even though the lens is quite soft below f/8 and bloody heavy .

I have just upgraded to K3ii with a Pentax 70-200 f/2.8 , does anyone have experience of this combo and any tips for getting top results they are capable of .

i have had the same quandry a I want to start shooting Birds Wildlife & Sports .I chose the Sigma 120-400 DG APO HSM OS , as it has the reach , on a cropped sensor is terrific quality and has the HSM motor so focusses really fast on my K-30. It is a big heavy lens but is an absolute joy to use

SRS Microsystems are also doing it for £479 which is only 30% of the price of a 60-250 and it has the extra reach

The Sigma DG is the better of the two as it has an Apochromatic element and would probably be the best choice of the one listed UNLESS you do want to be working in severe weather then go for the WR pentax lens

Have had one of these for about 4 weeks and just started using it in anger, only to find a huge bubble on the middle element. This is clearly visible when you hold it up to the light .

Has anyone else had problems with these lenses?

thanks ,
i have used Canons & Nikons , my 1ds canon died emphatically at xmas and the cost of replacement made me sit back & think. The beauty of the pentax is that I can use the 645 & the smaller k series machines and get the same colour rendition , file type and colours straight from the camera without hours of tweaking& tuning on lightroom or photshop that is simply brilliant and the most comprehensive & fleaxible upgrade system.

one of the magazines this week has shown that a K5iis is as sharp as a full frame Nikon (even with the kit lens) , so the logical step is to have a small form and a 645 which has larger pixels and a better tonal range.

I have a richoh 50mm f/2 but cant use it . I have an odd shaped eye which my glasses cant correct so when I use it the focus point is always behind where I focus , and the amount changes with different focus distances so i am waitng to get a auto focus 55mm f1.4 .I would love a 100mm macro how good do you think the Pentax one is compared to a 90mm f/2.8 Tamron as the Tamron is around £100 cheaper

Thank you . I am getting used to the slightly slower mindset needed for prime lenses. The other thing i have noticed since i went over to primes is that I consider my compositions more , having superb lenses to work with helps.
