Yeah, that is really a great tool, but (correct me if I'm wrong) of course it is limited to what the current API allows.
AFAIK you can't do something I would call "programmed focus bracketing", that is tell the software to start at focuspoint A and end at focuspoint B taking shots between them at whatever increment you like, which means you have direct acces to the focusing system.

Is Ricoh willing to grant access to their cameras via an open API for Tethering / Remote Control?
I think we will then see soon some great focus stacking software etc made by users / the open source community...

I have to say that I did not switch to FF, but I came home to FF. Growing up with Pentax cameras in the film era, it took a little bit time to get used to the APS-C format, when I bought a K10D back in 2006. And although the K10D was, and probably still is, a fantastic camera (the colors!), I instantly felt home, when I took a first look through the viewfinder of the K-1: Alas, what a great sight! My glasses form the F-series perform very well on the K-1, I don't really care about the weight and size, so for me there will be no turning back to APS-C, I'm really happy with the K-1.

I have to admit, that this box was the only one left from the film era - I used to store the SFX-Body and the then popular Skylight-/UV-filters in this box.
Don't worry, nothing strange at all. I'm glad and thankful, that Pentax/Ricoh maintains this kind of backward compatibility - one of the reasons for sure the K-1 is such a success.

I currrently own the following lenses: - F24-50 F4
- F28 F2.8
- F50 F1.7
- F50 F2.8 MACRO
- F35-70 F3.5-4.5
- F70-210 F4-5.6
- F100 F2.8 MACRO
- F135 F2.8
They all are widely used on my K-1 and perform very well, my current favourite being the F50 F2.8 MACRO: It has a wonderful bokeh and is ultrasharp, it's nothing short of amazing.
I used to own a F35-105 F4-5.6 and a F28-80 F3.5-4.5. The focal range of the first one didn't suite the APS-C sized sensor (for me!) of the K10D and the latter one, well, the performance is just bad.
You have to stop down to f8 to get at least decent images. So I was glad to sell both.
What I love is the colorrendition the F-lenses produce, really vivid and natural. ---------- Post added 04-13-18 at 02:29 PM ----------
After starting photograpy with a PENTAX Program A, I bought a SFX with the F50 F1.7 lens in 1989; 27 years later I had a FF-body again: |

If my memory serves me right, UHS-II has a theoretical transfer speed of 312MB/s. I'd say a very good real world implementation would deliver a maximum of 90%, that's 280MB/s. With bypassing the camera buffer this would result in 7,77fps with a 36mpx sensor and 6,66fps with a 42mpx sensor directly written to the SD-card until it's full. So I would opt for a 36mpx sensor.

We all know that the K10D really loves red. But here is proof, that also green is revealed in its beauty:

Very nice image! And btw, this is page 100 of this thread, but the K10D really deserves it!
