Selling excellent condition Pentax K-01 w/ 40mm Pancake Lens kit. Original box, and all accessories (most unopened). In addition I will be including an extra OEM battery (not a knock off).
As a second bonus and essentially the reason for justifing the $360 price, I am including a Sigma EX 17-35mm F2.8-4 with hood (no box) and I purchased the lens used at some point.

At today's prices on the K-01, if you get the K-01 and lens combo you could even consider the camera disposable. But I have a feeling it will last just as long as any other Pentax K body. Heck maybe even longer since there is no mirror mechanism.

I think it is fun to and interesting to play around with. My disappointment is that I can't seem to import them into iPhoto. If I turn it on in the menu > memory it locks up iphoto when it comes to a photo I used a digital filter effect on.

Yep, that $316 deal is what caught me too and brought me back to Pentax. The DXOMark scores are outstanding (as are all recent Pentax DSLRs). The K-01 is an outstanding value if you can live without a viewfinder.

Good thread, as I am pondering the exact same choice. Came back to Pentax after trying some other options. Picked up a K-01 kit w/ the 40 XS and a 70 ltd, so now I am trying to decide on a WA prime or a WA zoom.

Being the older version makes it better right? Full Frame instead of Digital.
Eventually we will probably go to full frame, so it would seem this would be a good investment into the future.
My only hesitation is that my first DSLR is a Pentax, but I am not sure if my second will be simply for the fact I want to try different brands with a couple of lenses before deciding which is "best" for me.
I could have used this lens this morning for the kids soccer games though. That is for sure!

So you could crop out the "fish eye" to a reasonable extent? The closer to 10mm the more fish eye and the closer to 17mm the more wide angle?

Hmmmmm......I am trying to decide if I want to get a Macro or Wide-Angle. Sigma 105mm Macro is similar price. Opposite ends of the spectrum. :p
I am interested, but not ready to make an offer to purchase yet. :cool:
