Item for Sale
Pentax K-5, Pentax 17-70 f/4, Pentax DA* 50-135 *SOLD*

Asking Price
SOLD
Item Location
Minnesota (United States)

Item Description
These items were purchased new in 01/13. Body has less than 2100 clicks on the shutter!

Excuse the photos....they were taken with a cell phone as I have no other camera. The 17-70 is mounted on the body and I don't have the body caps, so I am leaving it on there.
I have original boxes for both the K-5 body and the 50-135.
The lens hood for the 50-135 is missing the insert as shown.
Joby wrist strap on body is not included.

These items are mint, just never get used so selling the last of my gear.

Make me an offer I can't refuse! ;)

Item for Sale
Pentax SMC-DA 16-45mm f/4 ED

Asking Price
250.00 USD

Item Location
Minnesota (United States)

Item Description
Selling my Pentax DA 16-45 because it seldom gets used after purchasing a 16-50.

It looks and functions like new, but I can't list it that way as I don't have the original box. I purchased this lens from an in-law just over 1 year ago and used it for several months before I bought more lenses. Condition of this lens is as good as it gets.

Thanks for looking- Dale

I understand the physical differences. I am wondering if Pentax (Ricoh?) manufactures their own lenses, or if they farm it out to other manufacturers such as Tamron or Sigma etc. who would make it to Pentax's specs. Just curious, as I know Sony makes CMOS image sensors for several different brands and yes, they may be different, but are still manufactured by Sony to the specs of each respective brand.

Yes, I see now that the new one has some fluorite type elements and a different configuration. Does Sigma, by chance make the Pentax lens?

Being new to the Pentax stable, I guess I hadn't realized that that Pentax has its own 17-70 that appears to be decent. I may research that one a bit. I also didn't realize that the Sigma didn't come in a K mount yet.

Yes, I've read several reviews. I was wondering if anyone on here had any personal experience with one.

This is a good review you referenced, I guess hadn't read that one. Thanks Jonathan!

Anybody have any first hand experience with the new Sigma 17-70 that is made of a "composite" material? It appears to me to be optically similar to the old ones, but is marketed as part of their new series of lenses. :hmm:

I am still new her and this may be just useless rant, but take it for what you will.

I still own several Nikon and Canon bodies and some glass, and have used several other associated forums. Since coming here to the Pentax forum, I sense a friendlier and much more relaxed attitude. Folks on here are down to earth and I actually enjoy my daily visit here. The website and administration is first-rate and that also adds to the good feelings I get here. I have only dealt with a handful of other forum participants, but color me impressed....just great folks on here!

The kicker is the Pentax gear itself. I'm just loving my little K-5 and the Pentax gear in general. My wife is actually getting bored with my comments about how much I like my "little Pentax". At any rate, I found this awesome place, and I don't know whatever took me so long!!!!! Godspeed! :D:D:D:D:D

Pentax 16-45

Asking Price
$275.00

Item Location

Item Description
Selling a very nice Pentax 16-45 f/4

This lens is like new, but I don't have the original box. It does come as pictured, with the caps and hood.

I purchased this lens from KEH as a LN- (didn't have original box) in February of this year for $300. It is a great copy but I would like a little overlap with the 50-135 that I have.

I have minimal feedback on here but have additional feedback on FM forums. Thanks for looking. :D

Ah...the magic of PP. I remember the days when you actually had to "take" a picture....i.e. accomplish what most do now in CS with no second chance!

Thanks Dave.....I'm not sure quite how to take the "for a cell phone" qualifier. Just kidding! This actually made a nice 16x20 that I framed with wood from an old fence and hung in the man cave.

A fall afternoon in the northern Minnesota woods as we scouted for deer hunting areas. This was actually taken with my cell phone as I didn't have a camera with me, spur of the moment, as I followed my brother down the trail. PP was done in CS6.

Not sure why, but this seems like a more laid back and welcoming forum than FM Forums that I have frequented for several years.:)

Hello to all on the forum!

I consider myself an enthusiast at best, but have been shooting since waaay back in high school (40 years ago!). I started with a Minolta SRT-101 and have had a variety of DSLR bodies in the years since, starting with Canon, eventually getting up to the 50D. Always having a bug to move on....I went to the "dark side" and have had several Nikon bodies also, which necessitated the changing of a lot of glass.

While doing some shooting with a buddy last fall, I got a chance to shoot his K5 and really liked the feel and all of its features. I started doing some reading and ended up selling my D300 and several lenses. I just ordered a 5K with a 16-45 to test the waters here, and I am excited to get going with that little gem and customize its many settings to my liking. Anyway...glad to join the Pentax community and look forward to using the gear!

From the frozen tundra of Minnesota.......:D
