I believe the D-range settings menas prioritizing the measurements of the many points in Multi Segment metering. I havd made tests, that show small differences between Multi Segment and Centerweighted metering. The differences were about highlights. I hade a ingle D-range setting about highlights. It's a TAX thing. All still caeras in EUROPE and USA have this 29 min 59 secs limit, no matter what card is used.

Hello
I want to study the programs used in the latest Pentax cameras like the K-1, K-1ii, I cant seem to find any charts that can explain/show the algorithms behind Auto, Normal, Action, Landscape, Portrait and perhaps MTF
Anyone knows where to find these, please?

I do have Lightroom, but I dont like it. I have to arrange the package myself, and it may disapear when I update. I guess I could say the same about Qimage. I'll have a look at Hotfolder prints. I made some in Photoshop using smart objects. Very time consuming.

Hello Steve. The reason is a topic that has emerged in social media - how to choose which gel (color filter) to put on a flash, in order to color balance ambient light and flash light.
Most flashes are balanced to achieve light at appr. 5500. Knowing the Kelvin value / color temperature of the ambient light helps to use the right gel for the flash CTO or CTB:

Looking at the WB panel of the K-1, I find it odd, that there seems to be no connection between the Manual WB setting 1-2-3 and the K setting 1-2-3. Is this true?
I had hoped, that a manual setting WB 1 would be the same as K1. Put in other words - I had hoped, that I could actually SEE the Kelvin value, I have set manually.
Is there a way to see this?

How do I wirelessly transfere images from my camera (K-1 and K-3) too my android smartphone?
I know there are options, but don't know what to do first?
Do I need software for phone or PC?
Where to start?
Does the camera make a hotspot for the phone?
Which device creates a hotspot for which device?
Do I need a home wi-fi connection/router?
I'm asking because I spend many hours trying to connect a SONY a6000 camera to my phone - without any success - AT ALL.
They say it van't be done because I bought the camera abroad!!!
I don't want to spend many hours and days again - and still getting no results....

YES! I cracked the code (about TTL Key light/fill light). It is embarrassing simple. (This reminds me of Lightning McQueen trying to turn on a dirt track): In order to reduce the fill light, turn up the key light! It's that simple! The TTL metering system will see to, that the final exposure is OK/the fill light is reduced correspondingly :-) Basic editing only: Crop, Auto Contrast, Resize, Save for web.

Hello. I haven't tried HSS (Pentax) yet. Must I install the HSS firmware; Multi brand HSS in order to use HSS? Or is HSS included in the already installed firmware (in my case Pentax TTL)? If YES, will the Multi Brand HSS delete the Pentax TTL firmware, or can both firmware both be there, at the same time?

I made some tests, using TTL with two Pentax flashes. I'm not sure everything in the Cactus V6ii trigger were set up correctly. But but when setting the TX to TTL+M I can actually dial in +/- Exposure corrections for the off camera flash (group A) in the TX. Furthermore I can manually set exposure correction for the On Camera flash (TTL pass through) on the flash unit . I found, that the fill flash will contribute top cutting off the key light flash, which will then under perform. So I set the key light to "+ correction".

I did not upgrade to CO 11. I be getting back on this subject some day soon :-)
About theCactus V6ii triggers:
I have got the V6ii now. It'ss quite complicated. (Today I doubt this will ever work for professional use - hopefully I may come to a different conclusion in a few days. So many buttons and choises!
After updating the firmware twice (must it be the same firmware for Receivers and TRANceivers?). Both flashes fire - AF360FGZ on camera and AF540FGZ off camera.
I can't get the zoom working right - not while zooming on the camera/lens. If I zoom manually on the transceiver, only the "off camera" flash changes focal length setting.
Do I need a a third V6ii for the "on/by the camera fill light flash?
When photographing people, there are so many things to consider. I just can't spend time worrying if the flashes work.
So, I really hope I can get this working. I think found out, that I can't change the setting on the fill flash unit (AF360FGZ) manually (zoom angle and power) - if I do, the key light won't fire ...
So, how can I set the fill flash for eg -2?

This youtube vido explaines how you can use a lot of flashes (different brands) with the same receiver. This is absolutely awesome. Perhaps I can use my Pentax P-TTL flashes on my SONY a6000 :-) >And different flash brands on my K-1, K-3, K-5, K20D, 645D :-)

The Cactus company have thanked me (@ Facebook) for being proactive pointing out the virus problem. Cactus-image is currently working to solve the issue!

No, I haven't. (I even know someone who's working there). That's a great idea. I am a Capture One user myself, though I could never afford a PhaseOne camera...
Unfortunately, the see 6
45D, 645Z as competition, and don't even support Pentax RAW files, until the cameras are some years old :-( I had to use lightroom at my first 645D years. I hate Lightroom :-) Only use it for tethering.

Thanks a lot Class A.
The virus is a "JS: Agent-DZP (Trj)" says my anti virus software.
I want to use one flash (Pentax or Metz) off camera (mounted on a Cactus receiver),
and one Pentax flash on top of the camera/ on top of the tranciever - TTL pass over (I suppose).
Can I change between the Metz and the Pentax for the key light on the receiver, without updating/changing firmware for the receiver?
If YES, I'll buy a Metz back-up flash, for which I have already bought a power pack. I was hoping NOT having to buy a third receiver.

Can I use more than one flash brand, e.i. Pentax and Metz on the receiver, without having to change firmware?
I want to be able to alternate between Pentax AF540FGZ and Metz 58 AF-1.
Do I need two V6ii receivers to do this?

YeeHaw! I just realized that both the Pentax AF540FGZ and the AF360FGZ has A-mode (built in sensor). This is great news. The AF360FGZ even has both P-TTL and TTL (preflash turned off, still auto use). I don't know of any other flash that can do this :-) Perhaps it even does TTL on Film cameras and *istD (before P-TTL).
Anyway - The Cactus forum is VERY HELPFUL. The supporters DO ACTUALLY READ the forums - and will answer, whenever they can help (I wish Ricoh had this kind of service). The Cactus guy Antonio told me, that any flash mounted on the tranceiver WILL actually FIRE as well as flashes on receivers. My problems are solved! I CAN add a AF360FGZ for fill light, mounted on my tranceiver. I believe I can even cheat it, to believe I'm shooting at higher ISO with this ONE flash. So I can perhaps just dial in what ever level I need for FIll Flash. Thank you Pentax. Thank you Cactus.
