I am not surprised at all. I am currently struggling with choosing a ~35mm for my ZX5n. Am considering the DA 40 XS over DA 35 2.4. The Samyang is bigger than my current budget and size preference. Still a very lovely lens though! Enjoy it!

Congratulations on the new lens. Nice first post with it. Did you get the 14mm and 85mm too? Look forward to seeing more from you with the 35mm.

I tried to read it but there's about 100 characters per line so it's difficult to get through on a small device. Still, I read your forum and gear rant in the first paragraph, complaining about motorcycle students in the second paragraph, clients questioning your method in the third paragraph, and you sound like Rodney Dangerfield who also "got no respect." So I stopped reading and just scrolled down to the pictures because you indicated that this article would help photographers. Looks like movie still-shots taken on a set, not something I'd hang on my wall. There was nothing in this article that interested me as a photographer. Good luck getting on with the rest of your students and clients.

Great juxtaposition as I was Sunday morning reflecting on finding God and quitting booze years ago. Both seem a little under-exposed to me. And both seem over-rated too but forgive my digression.

According to the OP (original post/person), any 50mm prime lens is allowed, so post it if you got it.

Welcome to the forum Vaibhav. The members here are quite helpful in answering Pentax questions. Hope you can share a picture or two of Rajasthan while you're here. There's a Non-Pentax Camera section so don't be shy.

Oh, my. This lake is almost 14,000 feet above sea level and you're still looking up at the mountains! What an incredible journey this must have been for you. Any other pictures you could share with us "low-landers"?

Looks to me like the water on the left side is quite level along with the ground to the right of it. Then the ground slopes up slightly from the center of the frame to the right edge. IMO you did everything right and there is nothing the software would improve without also tilting the water on the left. This is a nice capture with a huge dynamic range. Maybe too huge. I'd like to see it taken with the sun on this side of the mountains. Where were you btw?

It is intuitively obvious that he is wearing the hat because it is a "bad hair day". lol.
Seriously, I've had a beard for 40+ years and never did THAT to it! (My hair OTOH....)

I'm thinking a life of crime might be in order! NOT!! This is going to screw up with my plan for early retirement as I get one more job to pay for it.
This really is an impressive system when working within its limits.

Wow! What a capture. There's certainly a story in each one of these. Makes me think fondly of the dogs i have had the pleasure of knowing.

Well that means I'll have to spend more than 15 minutes using the program! By the time I own the DP3M on my wish list maybe SPP will have improved. Currently DarkTable and RawTherapee both make it look rather spartan. The monochrome mode you mentioned is what I have to try next. The BW images that have been posted in this thread look so good. Oh, wait, those are yours!

Got pictures DLed and SPP 5.5 installed on Linux in Wine. It makes quite a difference to actually work with the original files. This strengthens my resolve to purchase a DP3M in spring. As for SPP, it's no surprise that most users will only do minimal work with it then convert to .tiff to use their regular software. It's also slow on my system, is this normal? This is the first time I've used Wine so that could be the reason. Look forward to seeing what barondla puts up. No need to post .tiff files.
Thanks again for doing this.

I'd like to see the full size files too.

I see two tiny spiders. Gotta love the texture detail this sensor delivers.
Seems it would be as hard to hold without an aftermarket grip too.
Has anyone posted panorama shots with a DP3M? I keep thinking that would be a FF/MF kicker.
