This photo is one of the best I've taken. I would like the lens because getting free stuff is awesome. I take lots of pics, this one was from my balcony on a cruise ship, but few are good. I like this pic. If I win I'll start with human portraits with the new lens as I've obviously mastered birds. ;)

so my question is do I bite the bullet and pay the exorbitant price of a real pentax adapter or can one of my fellow pentaxians direct me to solid 3rd party ones? The "general" one hyperlinked in the text of the article did not have very good reviews. I just purchased a 50mm super tak 1.4 and am excited to throw it on my k30, or does someone wanna sell me an extra real one for like 40 shipped???
UPDATE: bit the bullet....and am $49 poorer

stick with that kit lens for a bit, whilst you learn. Take tons of pictures ( no more film developing costs) and play around with image editing software -- that's like another hobby in itself! And for outdoor photography, I find dawn/dusk magical times.

I have a K 30 and was wondering as I surfed craigslist and ebay if there are adapters to mount the "other guys" stuff on our pentax DSLR's ? And would it be worth it?

Hi, I bought some cheap ebay extension tube/s to mess around with macro. Tried it this morning on my 18-55 wr kit lens and now I cannot get the ring off my lens. This totally blows. Any help would be appreciated

have a chance to get a sigma 600 mm f8 lens for my k 30 for $95. If the lens is in good shape is that a good deal? Is it a good lens in general, has a greenish colored barrel, def not new

Hi all, seems like almost everybody uses photoshop; I have an iMac and have Aperture--I know my Sony Hx200v did not shoot in RAW and now I'll get to "play" more with my RAW photos in Aperture. Any good sites for photoediting, or books, in Aperture? Also, any compatibility problems with Pentax/K-30 and my mac? Thanks in advance!
:)
By the way, in my excitement over getting a new camera, and hobby, I've been bouncing all over the net and found a cool hue test (I scored a 4) hopefully it's ok that I post the link.... http://www.xrite.com/custom_page.aspx?PageID=77&Lang=en |

ordered my blue (wish they sold the orange in the states) one with the 18-55 wr glass today. wanted the longer lens but wife's gonna freak with my spending $759. Of course that does not include the 32 gb sandisk extreme ($35) or the b+w uv filter ($32)-- I kinda "hid" them on another card. have some sigma glass from 1988 to try out-- made in japan--they have to be good.

I pulled them out... one is a 75-200 sigma af zoom, made in japan has a number 2021283, cannot find a model number though. the other is a sigma, made in japan, 35-70. the camera no longer works but the lenses look to be in excellent shape. do they need, or would they benefit from, some type of lube??

Hi all. Wanting to get into the dslr thing and have decided to get a k-30. I had a pentax sf-1 back in the day and I still have like an 18-55 and a telephoto lens , both were from sigma and both were pretty nice. What are the odds they'll work, and work well? thanks in advance...:)
