Thanks for that comment, that really caught my eye. I used to hike a lot before getting married and having kids. I'm trying to get the family back outdoors more and one of my ideas is taking pictures while we are out. If I can get the kids into looking for different photo ops, then that may help with the "no cel signal" blahs of teens. I've read that the 50-200 WR is a better lens than the normal 50-200 from a picture quality standpoint. Is it the same with the 18-135 WR vs normal as well?

WOW! Since I'm in the market for a DSLR, this is right up my alley. I was thinking of a K-30 and buying the WR lenses later, but this is almost too good to pass up!!!

Thanks Adam. I'm still torn between the Nikon and Pentax. Being this is a Pentax site, I'm sure the K-30 comes highly recommended. With my tax return on the way, I'm ready to pull the trigger on a camera and either of these will be a great step up from my point and shoot.

Congratulations on your new purchase and best of luck to you! I am looking to purchase my first Pentax DSLR soon and may look into the K200D route now. Thanks for posting your new buy!

Hello all. I'd like to introduce myself as a want to be DSLR user. I've had a Sony Cybershot DSC-H1 for quite a few years and I'm wanting to step up to the SLR world. I've looked at the NIKON D3200 and D5100 as well as the PENTAX K-5, K-30, and even the K-01. I love the idea of the sealed K-30/K-5. Both Nikon and Pentax have endless lens possibilities and fairly cheap when you step back a few years in the used market.
I don't know that I "need" stereo mic for video or HDMI output, etc. I'm worried more about still shots or the kids playing sports.
Any and all recommendations and thoughts are welcome.
