I take it that the Pentax K-5ii/iis is still the top of the line Pentax offerings at this time and that the newly announced K-500/K-50 are the low end body?

also any news on when a FF or more advance Pentax Bidy (one with more robust fps for sports etc) may be coming out

I installed it and had nightmares using it. It was full of bugs etc. I then tired to un-instal it and send over an hour to get me back to lightroom 4,4. Compared to the prviou comments seems like my version of the beta download has/had many more issues. It was slower than lightroom 4 on my wndows 8 machine (16GB of ram) ad when something mission cricital came up and I used lightroom 4.4 to edit it would not allow me export my images out of lightroom 4,4 to my hard drive to burn them to a DVD. Once lightroom 5 beta as removed lightroom 4,4 worekd fine. Will never test another adobe beta product again. By I will also add lightroom 4.4 is so much better than 3.6

Yeah I am slowly learning that, although when I first started for what I had to do I was making $12 an hour and was hoping as time went by I'd get more money which did not happen. Looks like all of us have been used.......

Pentax k 5 vs k 5 ii

A friend of mine that shoots a lot of weddings told me he had issues when he got a K-5iis because of Moie with clothing and sometimes table clothes etc. He only shot one wedding with the iis (had 10% of his images show singa if moie, and returned it and got a K-5ii in place of it. He said when he shot general buildigs and landscapes he had no problems, but shooting wedding clothes and table clothes posed a problem for him. The images had enough moie that the bride asked why the focus/spots on her wedding images. I have both the K-5 and K-5ii and I find the AF is faster in low light on the K-5ii vs the K-5 but in normal light they are about the same. I am using my K-5ii with a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 and love the results. If you shoot weddings or basketball in a high school gym the K-5ii is the camera I would go for.

As a part time wedding photograph a camera without an AA is not a good ideas unless they figure out how to control the morie (???) better in clothing and table coverings because it would be cool to have sharper images that can be had without the AA without the risks. Also I own a K-5 and K-5ii and see no reason for higher Mp as I get great 16x20 prints from both cameras. What I would love to see is:

- a bigger buffer on the camera so we can take more frames before it fills up (frame rate at 5fps is enough for me but some of my sportts freidns say you need 7 or 8fps)
- faster dump times from the buffer to memory cards so can have the dump start ahd keep shooting at reduced rate of frames
- the ability to use USH-1 cards (30, 45 and 90mb/s).
- also improved and faster AF would be a plus

Hi my name is David (but sign my posts as dave cause it sounds better to me - call me what you like) and I live in the Central Virginia area of the USA. I used to work part time as a newspaper photography and am now into shooting weddings and portrait sessions.

I currently own a K-5 and K-5ii along with a Sigma 18-250mm, Tamorn 28-75 f/2.8, Pentax 50mm 1.4 and a good stack of batteries and SDHC memory cards
