Well the K10 works perfect with the 150-450. But it results in a 10MP picture. The K1 gives me a 15MP pic (in cropped mode as well in FF and cropping in postprocessing).
So indeed K10D is a fine camera but it a backup.
Thx

Hello,

I have the intention to do some wildlife photography (as I love Scotland, I hope, if corona ruling permits, to travel to the isle of Mull this summer) and I was wandering whether my K1MKii in combination with the 150-450 would be a good combination to do so.
I have got both the lens and body in my possession. Are are there teleconvertors which can be used with this combination ?
Since I still have my old K10D would anybody recommend using this camera for this purpose?

Thanks in advance,

André

Old 50 mm lenses on DSLR

After some testing the results are rather disappointing. So thinking about buying a new lens. the HD 50 DFA 50 1.4 seems a decent lens with of course a decent price-tag. However I don't think there are any third-party lenses availlable on the Belgian/Dutch market that can compete.

Old 50 mm lenses on DSLR

Hello,

I still own some 50 and 55 mm lenses. The 50 1.4 is a Carl Zeiss Planar T* and the 55 1:2 is an old SMC Pentax (Asahi). Both were in use with my old Pentax SLR. Nowadays I use a K1 MKII and I was wondering whether it would be wise to use these lenses on this camera since I need an 50 mm lens for a job. I'd rather do this with a fast prime lens instead of using my 24-70 mm DFA lens of Pentax.
Can these 50, 55 mm do a decent job.

Thx,

André,
Belgium

Keep safe

Since I am quite charmed by the reviews of the Irix 11 mm and I am looking for such a lens I was wondering whether we might expect such a lens from Pentax ?
I have seen an Ultra wide angle on the roadmap, but is it likely to be available in the nearby future ?
If that is the case I might wait for it if not I would by the Irix now.

Anybody any clue ?

Thx,

André

Slide to digital conversion

Hello,

Before my digital days I used to take slides to.
With an Epson 1640 Photo scanner I have digitalised them.
It's an ordinary flatrbedscanner with a attachable light source in the hood.
Simple, good quality scans, a little bit time consuming but not expensive.

Gtz,

Buying equipment in Nepal

Within a month I'll be travelling to Nepal, a friend of mine wants me to buy some glass or even a DSLR in Kathmandu.
Is it a wise thing to do ? I know there can be problems with warranty.

I've been in Nepal several times and stayed in Kathmandu, I've never seen 'reliable' stores for photographics.
Any suggestions ?
