I also read that yesterday. And I agree, hopefully the other bodies will get proper tethering tools soon as well. The wifi Eyefi solution is just too bad to be usable.

Duct tape is the pro shooters best friend. So using it to display the new camera that is geared towards professionals is only consequent... XD

So that is maybe the groundshaking new feature? You can move the sun around as your lighting needs, causing earthquakes, vulkcano eruptions and other kinds of havoc around the globe? :P

yeah not really much logic in these ramblings. Just observe what happened over the last week:
Pentax posted the teaser website.
PF rumour section went nuts like it hasn't been for a long time. Every photography related website/forum posted an article or comment about it. Especially non pentax user sites are positively excited for the upcoming FF, mentioning the excellence of the recent K-5IIs, K-3 and especially 654z image and built quality.
Only one guy is painting black on every single thread and even the other forum.
Logic much?

I honestly doubt that having no flash prevented one single sale of the K-3II. Since it is the prosumer variant, the people buying such a camera should be able to distinguish what a pop up flash is capable of and what not.
On the other hand, every day I whitness tourists with highend FF cameras popping up their flashes to shoot our central church at night from 120m away. So there seems to be a market for that ;-)

1900$ and F2.8 doesn't sound like your average kit lens imo.

asahiman said he works for Samsung...
anywho
Regarding that weird guy who thinks the japanese invented deadlines and the formula how to meet them: I know 2 japanese people here and one of both is late 10 out of 9 times. I bet he does that by design.

asahiman hinted that new primes are coming in 2016. Since I have all the magic limiteds, I have no fear if they will need more time to make other/new ones. Although I'd be really interested in new and fast 85, 100, 135 mm lenses.

Fstoppers also posted about the teaser. Funny enough, nobody there speaks about any disappointment or delay. The article itself as well as their reader comments are genuinely more excited about the news. Crazy huh, that others read this as exciting news while the pentaxians here are close to kermitting swagside. https://fstoppers.com/gear/pentax-full-frame-camera-finally-its-way-86812 |

Haha, all these rage posts remind me of every other gaming forum. The same speculations, conspiracy theories and drama queen "I jump ship if..." attempts at blackmailing.
Very entertaining!
What's really concerning is that kenspo, probably the only guy here who relies on pentax gear to feed his family is pissed because of the delay.
That is way more concerning than all the temper tantrums shown here, as if Pentax would owe anybody anything.

Hmm, this doesn't sound too good. I bet you've been trying to get official word from Ricoh the whole day, as it seems postponing the release to "spring 2016" hasn't been communicated beforehand?what a shame, I 'd too be pissed alot if I was a premium client/ sponsored pro to make the brand look pro again...

Pffft, nobody needs this FF to make his/her daily income but kenspo. He's the one who should be pissed, but he still has his K3iis to survive the winter :P
and I am still hoping for more detailed info to surface starting from oct. 6th to keep the hypetrain running

I also tried the demo version of the plugin with my K-5 and K-5IIs. So far it works okish but has 2 downsides:
- files do not get saved on the SD card, just in the tether folder on the PC, this sounds quite insecure for my liking.
- USB2.0 has a really slow transfer rate, but it's acceptable when using JPGs for a preview.
I am really looking for a fast, secure and reliable instant file transfer solution to review my files on the fly, this shouldn't be that much of a problem in these days, as it is sadly.:(

What is really interesting for me is if they're going to implement a proper highspeed tethering solution. The current ones with wifi cards and/or 3rd party solutions are just not reliable and functional at all.

I honestly couldn't care less about the removed flash, as I am used to shoot with radio triggers anyway.
What I am really missing from the semi-pro bodies is a professional tethering solution, I hope the upcoming FF will get this.

No requests for tethering?? This sounds like a joke for me! Tethered shooting is helpful in so many ways, and I heard MANY requests for this feature. Pktether is nice, but lacks stability and of course a nice frontend. Phocus software is the best example how it's done!
