I have the 150 macro and very happy with it. This frog frog was in the shadows near my shed. First shot at F2.8 and then F8 and F10.

I looked a bit closer lens mount issue between the Irix 150mm and the 2X and see that the problem is with the Irix lens mount. It does not have the slot machined out where the aperture ring feedback is on an A lens. The lever inside the 2X Here it is compared to the 28-105. I might see if it is possible to remove the lever from the 2X as none of my cameras use it. Are all Irix lenses the same?

I think he was praying for rain! This was a few months back though, plenty of rain here now. I used a rolled up rag for a rest. No flash. The frog was perfectly still for the 15 secs of the last shot, except for under his chin from breathing. I haven't worked out how to attach my ring flash yet. I was disappointed that I can't use my 2X teleconverter though, the aperture feed back lever of the converter has no corresponding slot in the lens. I may try to remove feedback lever as none of my cameras need it and a 300mm macro would be good for chasing bugs.

First is a moon shot. Taken in the daytime which helps with the contrast I think. K3 DA300 F5.6 1/400

The Tarantula that lives beside my house was using its body to stop the rain getting in the burrow. The other bugs must live down there with it.

The Drongo comes here this time of year and there is a pair here now. They are iridescent/metallic green when the sun is at the right angle. This is the best shot I have got after many years of chasing them so will keep trying. Cropped DA300+TC1.4.

Great shot. I have never seen an ant like this on the mainland so may be only found in tassie.
Here is a fly that was sitting on my smoker and let me get close. I think he had inhaled too much.
