It may all look very nice here on the outside but the things you are describing are only a heartbeat away.
Healthcare is crumbling and it won't take long before people are without insurance here too (there probably are already but you don't hear about it).
Kids already grow up in poverty, having to wonder if they get a decent meal that day. Foodbanks are growing under this government.
I can go on and on sounding this negative but I really rather not.
I'm not very rich as in money, I work hard for my photohobby but I can still live my life as I want it and do some nice stuff on the side.
I do on the other hand worry about what this country, or world for that matter, is coming to.
p.s I would like to have US petrol prices though ;)

I was so looking forward to take part in this, but I spend the whole weekend in bed with stomach flu :(
And believe me, pictures of me in bed aren't pretty...........
Next year then.

I've bought one off Ebay not so long ago and I have to say I'm very glad I did. I like the lens, distortion is not that bad and it's sharp.
This picture was taken with this lens: Window art. |

Great idea. The biggest problem I have with taking pictures of my cats is when I get down to their level they come towards me to see what I am doing so low to the ground and if I want to cuddle :)

1. A really hard one. At the moment it's the Tokina 17mm, a real surprise.
2. Must be the Pentax M 85mm

Interesting.
I'm currently following an available light photography course and using my prime M lenses a lot, mostly at 2.8 sometimes at 3.5 (and using a tripod).
With using the green button the pictures become much lighter then when I expose a bit faster.
You are right about this being a K10D thing, I've read about it on several forums.
I think I'm gonna play a bit with the apature setting next week at the course, see what happens :)

The 18-55mm is one of the best kitlenses around and doesn't need upgrading in my opinion. I don't have the Sigma 17-70mm, but from what I've read and heard about it it would be a good addition next to the 18-55mm to fill the gap.

My experience with M lenses and using the green button is that the picture becomes slightly overexposed. I usually expose a bit shorter then it tells me after using the green button.

Amersfoort is a great city, Amsterdam is so overrated.
I live in the northern part of the country, so if you ever take a trip this way again I recomend you visit Groningen.

Don't forget about the Pentax DA 12-24mm f4, it's a great lens for wide angle.
I have the Tamron 70-300mm and it's a good and sharp lens.

Here's me thinking us Dutch were real bike riders but you guys are not bad either.
I own a simple aluminum mountainbike which I ride at least two days a week to my neighbor across the road to feed the cat (that's about 300 meters) :)
I do take it out sometimes for photography, but usually I end up with pain everywhere for overdoing it. I'm more of a hiking person anyway.

I use a M 50mm 1.7 with the Vivitar 2x focusing macro converter for macro shooting and I have to say it does a great job.
I saw a M 100mm 2.8 macro for sale on Ebay today, bidding starting at 100 euro's. Don't know if that is a fair price (it's probably going up quite a bit).

It's the same on this side of the globe. I went to a well known camera store a while ago to get the 12-24mm for my K10D and while I was waiting I looked around. There was a lot of stuff for Canon and Nikon, Pentax only had one shelf in a display cabinet.
I have to say that the general opinion about Pentax here isn't that great. People have this thing in their head that Canon and Nikon have more choice in lenses and other stuff.
To be honest, I don't have a problem finding nice stuff for my camera. Just bought a M 35mm 2.8 off Ebay.
