Thanks- she doesn’t like the type of poses I typically shoot of her- she likes the playful silly “Instagram’ type poses. She has an EOS M50 but tends to use her cellphone.....she’s my favorite model!
She was intrigued by my interest in shooting with an old manual lens knowing I have newer AF lenses but she does like the older stuff and even took a photography course and likes shooting film!
I forgot how much I paid for this lens but I see a few on eBay for $9! I think I paid a bit more than that but they can be found super inexpensively.
Have fun with your photography- that’s what it’s all about for me.

Hey guys, today I got the chance to play with an old Vivitar 75-205 f3.8 MC lens and took some shots of my daughter using the K1 II...it was fun!
My daughter is used to super fast instant focus (I normally use an A7III and she uses a Canon M50) so she had to be patient while I acquired focus with this all manual lens- but it was fun.....I'll do this again but I'll use an AF lens next time.
The lens is really sharp wide open at f3.8 and I didn't have to sharpen the shots at all which is rare- the colors were nice too- using old glass is fun, what do you guys think?

Thanks guys, these birds are fairly common south of Boca Raton. Many of them can be seen roadside along the waterways and canals along with various lizards from Fort Lauderdale down to the keys....I mainly shoot around the Fort Lauderdale area and have no problem finding them in the parks and various green areas- many of them are literally right outside my door in my community of orchid grove and this is why I moved to Florida from NYC. (I get much closer shots with my micro 4/3 cams as I use a 600mm lens and even closer with the Nikon P1000 with it's 3000mm optical zoom- tons of funs with different cameras!)

It was never used prior to my receiving it- it was new in box. (She had no lenses for it either- I believe she had Nikon lenses and that's why she sold it.)

Thank you guys, I did as S RE E suggested and it works....thank you.
I thought when in M mode I would have to rotate the aperture ring and didn't know the camera would be used to control aperture.....still learning- thanks again everyone.

Thanks guys but I believe you’re not understanding the issue.
The issue is the lens aperture is adjustable when mot mounted on the camera. When the lens is mounted and locked into position I cannot change the aperture- it remains wide open. If I start to remove the lens and twist slightly to remove I can then control aperture- that’s the issue at the moment.
I’m no Pentax expert and was hoping the included photos might show what the issue is: if anyone has any ideas why this is happening or how I might address it, I’d love to hear it.

Hey guys, I bought a mint Vivitar 75-205 f3.8 Mc lens and when I mount it on the K1 the aperture won't change but if I start to twist the lens off the body slightly, the aperture works (and works off the camera as well) it just won't change aperture when fully mounted- has anyone faced this- what was the remedy?
(I can't use it when it's not in the locked position as it can easily fall off- so using it this way doesn't seem like an option.)
I'm guessing the little lever that controls the aperture is slightly off- can this be fixed by myself?
The optics are flawless and I really want to use this lens as it has great reviews- what do you guys think?

Thank you guys for the replies- I’m used to the mirrorless cameras application of IBIS and because I don’t see the visible effects of the IS in the ovf I forgot this is a DSLR .....it makes perfect sense to initiate SR with shutter button- thanks again for the replies,
More to learn with this K1 ll.

Invasive iguana's are all over South Florida. I took this shot with a K1 II and Phoenix 100-400mm lens, thought some might appreciate it.
(totally new to this camera and lens- lots to learn!)
