Not pro astrophotography pictures but I wanted to share just a couple shots with the Pentax Fisheye zoom lens.
From Lake Huron, still frozen! :) It was pretty cold! Alignment is not perfect and light pollution was pretty bad too.
Best,
sebastian

Thank you Tom, I'm still trying to make up my mind about that lens.
I'll consider this thread closed, I have a friend in China coming now to Canada, so that would help.

Dear forums members.
Maybe someone could help me with this.
I was looking at some nice used lenses on Ebay, I've found one and it ships from Japan with a price close to 1000$.
I'm wondering if anyone has some experience in shipping from Japan and dealing with customs fees and taxes.
I could expect 14% tax from HST.
Thanks!
Seba

Hi, thank you! :)
I'm not sure now, I think I've used manual mode, ISO 100, F/2.8 and shutter speed between 5 and 10sec and I was
taking pictures continuously. (pressing the button after every shot.)
The lens was a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and it was used wide open most of the time. I was placing the camera
in the balcony...not very comfortable with that, but I have a tripod now!
Some shots were 'burnt' since some lightnings were quite brilliant!
Since London ON, is the lightning capital of Canada...I think I'll have some fun this summer too! :D
I hope to see some of your shots soon :)

Yes I stacked 4 images of 20 sec with MaximDL. I took and stacked 6 images the first time but the offset with the last two images was too large so I decided not to include them. Unfortunately I took the pictures in jpg...next time I'll remember to use RAW!

Hi there. :)
Well, maybe some of you remember my first post here.
I was trying to get some info about lenses and gear for a trip to the desert.
Well, I've just came back from there, and I wanted to thank you for helping me
with those questions and show you some pictures I took there.
I was participating in the UWO Planetary Science Filed School, it was an 8 day
trip to Arizona and Utah, to study planetary analogs, such as lava flows, cinder cones, impact craters,
and other kind of geological settings in the Colorado Plateau that can be found in the Moon, Mars, etc.
There was not enough time for pictures, we were camping and hiking most of the time, taking notes and doing assignments, real cool
stuff!
Anyway, I managed to stay up late and take some shots that I want to share with you.
I'm planning to print some of them, here are some small versions on flickr.

Dark Skies, UWO Planetary Science Field School 2013 - a set on Flickr

I hope you like them.
sincerely.

Great shot! And very nice to use the glowsticks! Here is my first attempt to shot the Milky Way (resized image)
Location: Strawberry crater, Az. :)
5 images of 20 sec ISO 1600. Unfortunately I took those in jpg mode...
Stacking in MaximDL, the stacking is not so good either.
