Fuji GFX 50s vs 645z

I had the K1 II and 645Z at the same time, and I failed to see any point in having the 645Z. I didn't see any actual upgrade in image quality bar difference in lenses, and carrying around the 645Z was a massive pain once the novelty of MF wore off. It did seem to reproduce skin very nice and smooth, but that was pointless as the f/2.8 lenses were not able to throw backgrounds out of focus like f/1.8 primes on K1II can.

I'd like to see manufacturers produce MF cameras with an actual 56x42mm sensor and then we'd actually see a point in upgrading to MF. As it stands, the mini-MF sensor just isn't that much larger than FF.

DFA 35mm f/3.5 worth it?

Well, the A version is 9 elements in 8 groups and 77mm filter size. Both the FA and DFA are 10 elements in 7 groups and 82mm filter size.

So it appears the A lens is a different lens entirely, but the FA and DFA are similar. I wonder if the difference is just HD coatings (like the HD FA primes for FF), because I'm not willing to pay double the price just for that. One difference I can see from the specs is that the DFA has 9 rounded aperture blades vs 8 straight blades on the FA. Given that I want sunstars more than round bokeh balls, to be quite honest this seems like an advantage of the FA.

I also find it weird how a new version of a lens comes out and there are zero comparisons to be found with the previous version, like whaaat  only in Pentax land

Well, its a bit inconclusive. Both lenses have great reviews, but the DFA version is double the price and there are no direct comparisons.

Is the DFA 35mm f/3.5 worth the price premium over the FA version? It is about double the price atm.

Are there any comparisons between the two online?

I'm going to use it on a Pentax 645N II. As far as I understand, it will work as intended on a film camera?

I'm looking for an autofocus lens, so I'm not interested in the A version.

You can mount it, but its unusable. There is no aperture control.

One of my biggest disappointments with Pentax 645 was how incompatible the digital and analog systems were. Even though its the same mount, due to the crop factor and lack of aperture rings they ended up being two different standalone systems for me.

Bump!

Taking offers!

Both have to sell as I've moved completely to 6x7 film cameras.

Will ship either of these worldwide, as they are quite light.

Pentax MZ-S is sold!

Only the 31mm /f1.8 is left! I bought it for €625, selling for €500. I no longer have a camera to mount it on, so this is going cheap!

Lately I'm doing very little photography and I never shoot digital anymore, so I've decided to sell this.

Pentax 645Z
Visually and technically in excellent condition. Has spent its life in a studio, I am the second owner, I've had it for 1,5 years and I've taken it out on 1 large trip and several smaller ones, as well as walks around the house.
4 batteries included.

Pentax DFA 55mm f/2.8
Glass and body in excellent condition. The lens hood has some matte wrap as the previous owner felt it introduced reflections.

Right between 35mm and 50mm, this lens is the reason I bought a 645Z. Absolutely love the focal length. It produces excellent pictures in various situations, and makes the whole system comparatively light. I've been on walks with the 645Z and just this lens, and its been thoroughly enjoyable to use.

€2400 for the whole kit.

Shipping to Europe only, please send me your address for a quote. Should be around 50-80 euros, I think.

I am shooting medium format film, so if you'd like to exchange any MF film gear, let me know. I'm only interested in cameras that can do AE and shoot in aperture priority. I'm especially interested in a Pentax 67, 67ii + 105mm f/2.5 or 90mm f/2.8, also interested in Fuji GF670 and GF670W (aka Voigtlander Bessa III).

DFA version for $660 is a complete steal. Somebody probably made a mistake. You could've turned that around and sold it for $1000 the same week.

Is Your Camera Your "BELOVED"?

In the English language, you can love everything, from cameras to donuts to army rifles.

In other languages this isn't the case, but English is not the only language where this happens.

And yeah... I never call my wife beloved, but when McDonald's changed the recipe for Double Tasty, I did mourn the passing of my most beloved hamburger.

Pentax 15-30mm f/2.8 sold

Just the 2 cameras and the holy trinity remaining!

I find it interesting how the lenses I used the least sold first, and now I what I think is left over is actually what I consider the best of Pentax. Small, excellent primes and the best full frame / 35mm camera. Maybe everyone already has these?

I find the 45-85mm and 80-160mm zooms to be too heavy.

I use the FA 35mm and FA 75mm, and sometimes add the FA 150mm.

Pentax 645z - worth 'nothing' on used market?
Posted By Edmunds

I bought a 645Z a year ago with the 55mm f/2.8 lens for 2000 euro. I think it is a fair price given how capable are the latest FF models you can find on the used market, as well as how close the Fuji 50R/S are in price as well.

As for the 28-45mm, I used to follow those on ebay religiously (ended up with a DA 25mm instead simply due to weight, and even then I find it too heavy). Generally speaking, none of those seem to sell unless sold waaaay below the average price. Yours literally has got to be the cheapest on the market, below $2000 easily, and even then its a waiting game.

Also, for those of you saying "its not worth selling for a price that low", well, this is not a film camera. While most of the depreciation has already happened, the price of digital cameras generally speaking only goes in one direction. So if you want a new camera, best to free up space/money.

That said, I still find some use for mine, but I use it as a companion to the 645N. I think I will sell it if I decide to sell the 645N. I'm not worried much because like I said - most of the depreciation has already happened, and owning it for the next 5 years is probably gonna cost me about a hundred bucks a year.
