I had to shoot this "blind", as my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I took a lot of frames, but this was in the first ten minutes of my 80 minute shoot!

The "atmosphere" is what I was looking for. Some just missed it in my book, but I'm NOT telling what I DID vote for.

They are all great shots! But, as the contest is flowers up close, I had to go with #8. I like the detail of the flower in the photo. The bee in #7 is nice, but there isn't quite the sense of the flower to me.

I like the contrast between the water and the air in the photo.

Shot while on my daily lunch walk on Struve Slough in Watsonville, CA. This is water going into the Monterey Bay.

Taken 02/05/2013. I had to manual focus, as dragonfly was too small for the autofocus.

And I need it when I'm taking a shot at 85mph from my motorcycle. Yes, I DO that at times, and I've had a few nice shots with the K10D because of it. Now that I have a K5, it's "M", with green ONLY if I need a quick shot, it will be gone in 1.5 seconds. I did start with a K1000 a "few" years ago, so I do remember how to set most of the dials and buttons. I think one should know as much as possible about the tools he uses, and part of that is understanding what the green mode can and cannot do. It's just another tool in the box, so to speak.

Oh, wait, that's been used!
Well, hello to all. I'm a Pentax user from way back in the film days. Been using a K10D the last few years, and I hope to have a K5 soon.
I'm on the Central Coast of California, and do most of my photo's here.
