I contacted BH and they are replacing the card.
If anyone has any suggestions for settings, I would like to try them out.
Thanks

Pentax has their name on the card. That means they approve it for use. I can't imagine a company would put out a product that has this many problems and hiccups (search for FLU card).
I think they should have put wireless tech in the camera. I would have paid more. Don't rely on a 3rd party card. Just saying.
The camera is great.
It does recognize my sandisk cards. I tried the FLU card in both slots. I took images off the Sandisk card on the same computer/reader.

I just got it.
I am already having trouble with the FLU card.
I updated the firmware to 1.1.1 I put in the FLU card and receive the message Memory Card Error "2"
I went to the Wireless setting and it says "No Wireless Card in Memory Slot 2"
I am sorry, but this is a little ridiculous. Paying this much money and having problems like this is not acceptable. Pentax needs to get their s**t together.
From what I have read and seen, it is a great camera. I just have a bad taste in my mouth right off the get go.
Any ideas? ---------- Post added 09-04-2014 at 03:14 PM ---------- I can't even get the card to read on my Mac using a card reader.
Are they junk?

Can the K3 control the AF540FGZ flash when off the camera? Like a wireless trigger?

Just pulled the trigger on the K-3 from B&H. They have a great deal going. Free battery grip & Flu card. Also got the AF-540 for $70. Should be shipping today!
Should be a welcome upgrade from my K20D.

I think Pentax missed the boat by not adding Wi-Fi to the K-3.
I would pay a little more for Wi-Fi.

Yeah, it will sell. I am hoping my lenses will hold their value and sell easier.
I am switching to Canon.
My wife's main client is Canon. I can't bring my Pentax equipment to her work activities. This includes site inspections and reward trips I get to go on b/c of Canon.
I will put everything in the Marketplace soon.
Pentax 17-80 f4
Sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM
Old school Vivitar Series 1 105 f2.5 macro
Tamron 1.8x tele converter with contacts one manual
Promaster flash
Pentax grip extra battery
Thanks

Looking around The Marketplace and eBay, I have a bad feeling I won't be able to sell my K20D.
Is anyone having luck?

That makes sense. I would imagine that Pentax doesn't have the market share. Too bad.
You would think a Chinese maker would take the plunge.

Why are the cheaper wireless triggers limited to "slow" speeds? What limits this? Are there triggers that allow HHS?
Thanks

Is there a quicker way to change the ISO on the K20D without going into the function menu?
Thanks

I went to Barnes and Noble and thumbed through a few books. I found "This is Strobist Info: Your Setup Guide to Flash Photography"
It is chalked full of info. The first 19 pages basically go over all the different equipment that is available. The rest is a photo on one side and the break down of the photo on the other page. It includes equipment used, the settings the flash, the distance and angle and the camera info that includes ISO, F/Stop and shutter speed.
It is only $15.
Highly recommended.

The illustrations are great, don't get me wrong, the majority of the shots are on film. It is just a little quirky. No big deal. I wish they were more specific on flash power. Maybe give a light sensor reading on each flash.
Thx for the suggestions

Hello,
I am looking for a recommendation for a "how-to" portrait photography book.
I bought "Photography People - Portrait Fasion Glamour"
It shows setups for the selected photographs, but is a little dated (published 2001).
Can you recommend a more updated book that shows setups and also lists specific data? ie focal length, aperture, flash power etc.
Thanks.

Any ideas on a quality meter? I know Sekonic is the Cadillac, but I am not a professional, more of a hobby and sometime use photography in graphic design.
Thanks

Thanks for the help. I am trying to decide what lighting to go with. I have three pttl that I use in manual with wireless triggers. I am trying to get a better idea which has more power - what I have or AC powered strobes.
Thanks
