Been a while since I posted anything and taken any photos frankly. But one thing is always true..I am impressed with everything about this lens. Here is a shot on my way to a birthday hike in the eastern sierras.

Just got the GRiii and getting used to the interface but I like the image quality and ease of use. Definitely a nice add to the K-1.

I have the Firefly and the features you described are handy. It did take a little bit of time to get make the adjustments for infinity focus. Specific to your question about how it works in large starscapes, Astro is the next area of photography that i want to learn so I can't add to that question. I've been spending a lot of time learning on the Lonely Speck Youtube channel. They sell a filter to help with finding focus on stars. I don't have it but the husband/wife team seem like good people are all about Astro. It is less expensive than a new lens.

Bumping this thread again. Cross posted. I got out too late today and the conditions were not what I wanted so it was a nice hike instead.

Not exactly the shot I was after. The fog wasn't as thick this morning so had to make due.
I will have to say all of the pictures of backpacking overnighters, monument valley, Mt. Lassen, McKenzie pass is giving me the itch to put on a backpack and get away from people for a while.

Shot this at f4. I recently upgraded my camera backpack so I will have this lens with me at all times. It hasn't been getting the use it deserves.

Bumping this thread. Still messing around with shooting at f1.4. I will say i am totally impressed with the images it produces wide open. It has been kind of a revelation.

Sundown nice image. love the bokeh and the cute kitty.
Back to the same park but out a little earlier. Here are a few more at f1.4. Still trying to figure out how it renders at that aperture. The more I mess around the more I love this lens.

Great images on this page. A lurker on this thread until I sold a couple of lenses and picked up the DFA 50. Today was my first opportunity to take it out. Here are a couple from my walkabout all at f1.4.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f2 Asking Price
550.00 USD Item Location
Emeryville, CA (United States) Item Description
Selling the second/last of my dynamic duo set of manual focus primes. I purchased the Zeiss about 4 years ago from a PF member. It is in excellent condition. Glass is clean and the only mark I could find on the lens body is a small scratch on the focus ring. Very hard to see but the photo of the back of lens with "Lens made in Japan" shows the mark. If you are not familiar with Zeiss lenses this is a solid chunk of metal and glass. It is one the highest rated Zeiss primes on PF user reviews. The images have that signature Zeiss color saturation and microcontrast that gives your images an extra 3D pop. It comes with the original box, a pentax front and rear lens cap, the OEM lens hood, an aftermarket lens hood/cap and a B&W KSM HTC MRC Nano circular polarizer. Happy to share images taken with the lens if you send me a pm. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Voigtlander 58mm 1.4 SLII Asking Price
430.00 USD Item Location
Emeryville, CA (United States) Item Description For sale is my Voigt 58 1.4 SLII with the optional hood. It comes with a kmount rear cap, oem front cap and a mamiya cap to use when you have the hood on and a lens bag and boxes. I purchased the lens from a PF member about 6 years ago and have loved it for the time it has been in my hands. Glass is clean and you will be hard pressed to find any scratches or worn areas on the lens body/hood. The Mamiya lens cap is functional but has a cracked pinch release. Works great with crop or full frame and have used it on both my K5 and K1 If you are not familiar with this lens it has a buttery smooth focus ring, metal construction. With focus peaking and a steady hand or on a tripod you will find f1.4 to be pretty damn sharp. How it renders an image is why I thought this would be pry from my cold dead hand lens but now it can be yours. Happy to share photos taken with the lens if you pm me. I bought this lens when it first came out and used it extensively until I went to FF. The lens for me was fantastic. All focal lengths... all aperatures. It had such wonderful character in a light standard zoom. It is one of lenses that I'd love for my K1 now. Without going back to my image library, I suggest it would be hard to tell a shot at f11 vs. f16. I don't think I ever shot an image at f22.

I'm running Aperture on High Sierra. No problems. Like you heavily invested. Though I have tried ON1 and Photos on a few photos to determine if I need to leave Aperture behind....so far answer is no.
