Fantastic! How are you ever able to track them...or find them in the scope? Follow the contrails till you reach them? Great work. I would have never dreamed that clarity would be available with a pieced together rig like that.

Yes, I suppose the seller should always do a little homework before the sale. It's the smart thing to do. It is never really a buyers place to educate the seller, unless you are a dealer and care about your reputation. I have also come across some smoking deals a few times and been the recipient of free gear that was worth hundreds of dollars (if I ever sold the freebies, guess where the money would go...back to the kind souls who gave to me...but that's just me).
However, what really stinks is to find an amazing deal from someone without a clue, and then proceed to squeak an extra $15 dollars out of an already stupid low price. I guess what I'm saying is that when a person I'd blessed enough to stumble across something they really want for an insane (uneducated) price...just pay the money they are asking and enjoy your own good fortune.
I can only think that one would want their own heirs to be treated the same when dealing with your estate. Just something to think about.

Aww yes, very nice! I had your bikes Grandaddys...both a CBR600F4 and the fabulous CBR929RR. The 929 was the best sportbike I ever had. I spent close to 13 years with my 929 and loved it. I hated to see it go, but too many machines, and getting a little older...and I let it sell.
Enjoy your ride...are those carbon$$$ brakes up front? Nice. Thanks for the photo, and safe riding to you.

I hesitated for quite some time after I finally keyed in on how nice the GR might be. And then I waffled back and forth over pricing and deals, as even at the best of "deals" the GR is still very pricey. I finally pulled the trigger on a GV-1 combo before Christmas time (I have yet to use the viewfinder, but I like the idea of having it). Let me say, I do not regret it one bit at all. The GR is really a sweet little camera. If you enjoyed having an MX-1 (which I like as well) then I think you will love the GR. Yes, the fixed 28mm focal length can be limiting, but it can also be challenging, and many times it is perfect. The size is so nice, and I find myself taking this camera to places that I would never take my SLR...and that is what it is all about...being there with a camera. Oh yeah, it takes great pictures too.

That is a good price. I bought the 10-17 and I love it. Really good colors, and ridiculously close focusing. The 10mm part is quite distorted and very wide. But the best part is having the ability to use the 17mm end, which while still having some distortion, is really not to bad if you do not have vertical elements at the edges of your photo. I use this lens all the time around airplanes on the ground. It's like it was made for that. To me it's a no brainier because: It's Pentax, great build quality, super flexible, autofocus, fun, and you will make great shots. At that price it's too nice. I would buy mine again.

Senduy....You are the BEST!!! Thank You so Much! That is exactly what I was looking for. I don't think I ever would have found it, because if you are not in the right menu when you hit the menu button then you won't see it without scrolling around. This way ricoh has made it a little more cumbersome than I imagined, but I am so happy that it can be done...and once in the menu...you are right, it does seem very powerful.
Thank you again for giving me the knowledge to do this, I was a little bummed out when I thought, "not possible". I am very excited about this little camera. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Ok, thank you. I looked in the manual too, and could not find anything as well. I did not know if there was some sort of trick I was missing though. It seems kind of strange not to be able to do that, especially with the B&W so you would have a color copy as well. Maybe ricoh could address that in a firmware update sometime...
Thank you for confirming, I thought I was missing something easy.

Brand new to the GR here with another question.
Is there anyway to apply the GR in-camera effects to pictures you have already taken? For instance, I have my camera set to the default effects settings ( standard/color). After I take a photo and am previewing it in-camera on the GR's screen, can I toggle through all the many in-camera colors and effects to see how they affect the picture? I would sure like to be able to shoot RAW+ in color and then see what the shot would look like in the GR's famous B&W rendering and save if I so choose.
Is this possible much like I can do in my K5IIs?
Thank you.

Well, I fixed it! If anyone else has this problem...here is what it is.
I remembered when I first played with the camera, the ISO seemed to be normal. So I thought, "what have I changed to make this happen"? I stopped short of resetting all camera systems and went back piece by piece. When I was in the custom menus I set the top auto ISO cap at 6400 up from the default of 3200, mainly because that is what I did with my K5IIs. Well, I guess that screws up all kinds of stuff, It must be a weird glitch in the firmware. Not only did the auto ISO refuse to go below 400, but the self timer button would not do anything. That was a strange one, because I knew I didn't change any of that buttons custom features. Now that I put the ISO ceiling back to 3200, the self timer works perfectly.
In summary...PRO: The GR is a very customizable camera. CON: The GR is a very customizable camera.

I must be missing something. I cannot get the auto ISO any lower than 400. In TAv mode I can dial in f2.8 and a shutter as slow as you like and only get the camera to give ISO 400. Same in Av mode too.
I have tried both ISO auto and auto-hi
In setup menu there is an ISO auto high setting where I can set the top limit for ISO and the shutter change speed, I have found no where to set the low side though.
In the shooting menu there is an ISO setting/NR menu, and I have tried setting both Auto & Auto-Hi, with no change in behavior.
I am stumped. I did download firmware version 4.0 right when I got the camera too.
Thank you for any help.

I did look at that, I was able to set it to go higher to ISO 6400 but the low end still said 100 as far as I know. I will check again and see, I am sure it is something I am not doing right.
Thanks for the quick reply.

I finally bit and got a GR with the deals going on. I have been playing around with it and it seems like a neat little camera. I am sure I will have tons of questions, but for right now this is bugging me.
In Av mode (maybe other modes too, I believe even TAv as well) and the ISO set to auto, the lowest the ISO will go to automatically is 400. For instance f2.8 outside the shutter will be like 1/1000 and the ISO instead of auto going down to 100 it only stops at 400. It works normally going up if need be. I can obviously control it manually.
I also can't get the self timer button to self time when pressed. It does nothing that I can find. I know, I know...RTFM.
What am I missing here? I did a quick search and didn't turn up anything, so I apologize if this has been covered before, and thanks in advance.

That was the deal I was looking for...except I already bought mine at B&H a couple of days ago! Oh well, at least I got the viewfinder, free shipping, and a 32gb sandisk SD card thrown in. Oh yeah, and the little spiff on top to help out pentaxforums. I guess I don't feel too bad.

I am pretty sure that the 14mm lens on a Pentax APS-c camera is a field of view equivalent to a 21mm lens. So, same. Remember, the lens on the GR is an 18mm which is approx a 28mm in 35mm film speak. I think maybe what the OP was asking had to do with image quality... As in, does the wide adaptor degrade or change the quality of the photo in anyway.
I wish I knew from the first hand knowledge and delight of GR ownership, but I am waiting and hoping for the price to drop a touch.

If I can only take one lens around a city and I want a small profile; the 21mm always gets the nod. It's almost wide enough for most buildings and environments, and more than pretty decent for people. Plus your camera will handle like a dream. If I have a jacket or cargo pants on, then I will carry the 43ltd too.

You have to love it when a guy who bought a KX in 1975 and ONLY shot slide film can extrapolate his photographic tastes onto the entire world at large and call B.S. on someone who worked for Kodak. I mean, everyone who cares about photography shoots nikon and so do all the pros so the best selling camera must be a nikon...oh wait...maybe it's the iPhone. The Internet is a marvelous place.

Wow! That is really some great stuff. Thank you so much. Please keep it coming. Was there ever any cases of secrets being leaked to, or key people defecting to say Fuji or Agfa? Or vise-versa? As a Kodak employee, how was Fuji viewed?

Thank you for all the trivia, especially coming from someone who is an insider. I could read stuff like that all day long. Please add more occasionally as you think of it, I am sure we would all find it fascinating. For instance, I heard that at times Kodak would clean the floors to reclaim all the silver dust and end up with a rather large "bar" of silver at the end. Any truth to that? Again, thank you for the interesting facts.

RavPower. Get one at Amazon etc. for $45. It has SD card slot and USB slot for thumb drive. It creates its own wifi signal and with the free app on your tablet or phone you can zip pix from the camera SD card to your device, and pix from your device back to SD card or thumb drive. All at fast speed from the RavPower units built in wifi signal. It works great. Oh yeah, it also has an internal 3000ma battery for recharging phones and tablets etc.

Good work! I am so glad to see good things happening for good people. You know, your sandbox YouTube video is one of the reasons I shoot a Pentax today. I sometimes tell people who shoot with the "others" about it, and I always get a WTF!!! type look from them. You put in tons of effort here for everyone's benefit and I am grateful. Thanks for it all, and I hope you sell many more.
