A Winter Canadian National steam locomotive excursion, with CN 6218 on the lead, has dropped patrons off between Georgetown and Acton, Ontario, and backed up to perform a "Run-past" at this location. The date is the Winter of 1971, film is an AgfaChrome Slide, shot with my first 35mm SLR, the original Pentax Spotmatic with a 50mm F1.4 Super Takumar lens. The great show of smoke / steam / sound of mechanical motion was an experience I'll never forget.

Hi everyone, I too have been requested to surface... or be dismissed. I've actually followed the forum for over a year, just never got around to posting anything. As my handle implies, railway photography is my main interest, if you pick up the magazine TRP (The Railroad Press current issue #80), check out my shot on page 58. I shoot slides, typically 3 bodies (MX, LX, Super Program, MZ-S, MZ-5n, or MZ-3) on the go with KR64, Provia 100F, and Velvia 100F). Wife say's I'm a Pentax Collector also... there's not much I don't have, other than digital (bought her a K200D). Love using prime lenses, all manual focus / exposure, that's the only way to shot slides, as the exposure latitude is so tight. I even have a shutter speed checker to verify my old bodies before I use them (Spotmatic F with SMC 85mm F1.8).
Here's a picture from BC taken in the 1990s. BC Rocks
Enjoy,
Bye for now,
Dave
