Ricoh Imaging at CP+ 2018

In that case they will wait to collect my money at least 10 years.

I must admit that I have very exotic lens requirements like ultra wide primes, fast 85, consumer/prosumer long telephoto lenses and all those irrelevant lens types.

I'm probably out of date, because these days typical consumers uses big fat full frame zoom pro lenses on full frame consumer bodies.

I have high expectations that the release of K-1 II will return me to the mainstream.

I would like to see that but I think it's too early. Probably next year.

I'll do the same in a split of a second.

New K-mount roadmap

I also have K-1 plus K-5 and I will do exactly opposite. I'll sell K-1 and invest that money in new flagship APS-C or KP. Reason?
There is no compact size ultra wide full frame prime lenses which is very important for me.
Also there is no consumer telephoto zoom compact in size and weight with decent optics.
On my opinion both of those lenses are more important than 50mm.

That is a full frame 15mm lens, if you think it is large, please find me smaller 15mm for any mount whenever and wherever it is made in the last 100 years.

Money is not a problem for me, my wife is getting much more money from my photography then I spend for a new lenses and other photo equipment.

Problem is that I did most of my landscaping while taking a long weekend tracks 20-40miles, usually in wilderness where food and even water is a problem to find.

This is a typical autumn scenario with DFA lenses included:
a) wide angle zoom or super wide prime, 1kg
b) normal zoom or 2 primes(wide and normal) 1kg
c) telephoto (70-200 zoom only) 2kg
d) macro lens 0,5kg
e) 2 bodies (FF and crop as a backup) plus grip 2kg
f) large carbon tripod 2kg
g) filters and holders 0,5kg
h) 4 batteries + power bank 1kg

By selecting DFA15-30, 24-70 and 70-200 my current backpack will be already full with that but I also have to carry some other things like:

i) 3 liters of water
j) 2 kg of food
k) sleeping bag 1,5kg
l) tent 3kg
m) additional clothes 3kg
n) additional shoes 1kg
o) all other things neccessary for camping and preparing food 4-5kg
p) walking sticks 0,5kg
r)Large backpack itself is around 2kg.

All in all with a few additional things it is 35kg of weight on my back&shoulders, probably in a large 80l backpack.

That is a typical setup for walking and climbing 20 miles/day and I have 2 problems:
1) It is too heavy for such a long walk where every kg matters
2) More important is that DFA Lenses are too big and I'll be forced to carry much bigger backpack than it is necessary and that is dangerous (for me and for the lenses) while climbing rocks or jumping over some obstacles especially at the end of the day when I am tired.

As a conclusion, my wife won't kill me, but my back will kill me for sure.
Also protection of those huge lenses while carrying them around in a backpack is a big problem also.
Two big lenses inside of backpack=trouble.

Best case scenario for me and long tracks in general could be
DFA 15 Limited WR for landscapes - doesn't exist
DFA 28-105 WR for walk - I have it
DFA 150-450 WR for wildlife - coming this xmass (replacement for Sigma because of WR)
DFA 100mm WR macro for flowers, plants and other details - I have it

I appreciate your point of view but that doesn't change the fact that mentioned Wasabi power battery replacement for D-Li90 is a total garbage.
Off course there are good quality 3rd part batteries, I recommended Hahnel because it is well made in Germany, costs 30€ which is not so much and could be easily purchased over internet by @Markovo assuming that he is EU citizen.

That is ok for me as long as he is telling the truth.
He is using his camera for serious work in extreme conditions and from his point of view it is absolutely ok to be suspicious on every sign of irregularities.
The fact that he uses Pentax K-1 in those conditions instead of Nikon, Sony, Canon speaks for itself.

Is my K-1 wasted on my legacy glass?

I agree on 24-50, it quickly becomes my favourite F series lens. It is just perfect for landscaping on K-1.

With 35-70 I had similar expirience, used it a lot on K-5 but still not tried on K-1 except test shots. On K-5 it is sharp wide open at 70mm which is great.

I used 70-210 a lot on K-5 and on K-1. I also have Sigma 70-200 HSM II but it is big and heavy for climbing/hiking and it does not work on K-1. Changed 3 copies of 70-210, when focus is there it has very good image quality but unfortunately I had inconsistent AF results on all 3 copies. Missed a lot good shots, which never happened with Sigma.

I asked you about 28-80 vs 35-105 vs 35-135 because I really can't decide which one of those three lenses is most usable.

Believe it or not 28-80, cheapest lens with lowest scores in lens database is in my case most consistent lens through entire focal range, in macro mode and within the whole aperture range. On K-1 28mm is enough for landscaping, 80mm is enough for portraits so it is also most versatile. In "macro" mode you could be very close to subject and I consistently got sharpest results in that mode, better than 35-105 and 35-135.

F 35-135 is very strange lens, I would like to know what was designers idea when that lens was created. It has ridiculous number of glass elements (for that time and type of lens) only F*250-600mm had more. Probably because of that It acts like a man with hundred different faces. Every combination of aperture and focal length (including macro) looks different. It is pretty consistent for the same parameters, but hard to learn because of many different combinations. As example on 135mm it goes from extremely soft at f/4.5 to extremely sharp at f/8. All apertures in between looks very distinctive. But if you use 85mm for portraits instead of 135 or so-called macro for intimate portraits, rules are changing and the same aperture gives you very different look. Softness/sharpeness amount is changing through focal range. At 50mm it acts almost like a normal lens but not at 35mm. Macro mode is not really usable for macro because of huge minimum focus length but it is good for some other things. That is my oldest F series lens but still don't get it, probably because I don't use it on a daily basis. Had some great landscape/nature/portrait shots but a lot of misses and disappointment also.

At last I don't like new DFA zoom lenses, because of their size and weight. 15-30 and 70-200 are huge and heavy, even 24-70 is too big for me. I prefer small and slow prime lenses which are sharp wide open, as example like new Voightlanders so that is the reason why I use my A series primes when I need to be very light. It may sounds paradoxical but only DFA zoom lens which I would probably buy is 150-450. It is the biggest of the bunch but if you need zoom lens for wildlife it can't be much smaller than that, no matter is it made in 2016 or in 1976.

In april 2015 I've heard that will be two full frame bodies, flagship and cheaper one.
That was information from the same guy who told me about Pentax full frame in january 2015.
First time I didn't beleive him but now I'm not so sure that two FF bodies is just a plain rumor.
I won't be suprised to hear something about that later this year at Photokina.

That lens was 99% already repaired the same way as you said, because original mount on 135mm f/2.5 fits just fine.
Problem is well known to me because I have a couple of third-party manual focus K mount lens, longer metal from the lens hits the motor drive during mounting.

K-1 wins TIPA 2016 "Best Full-Frame DSLR Expert"

Exactly.

K1 got "Best ful frame DSLR expert camera" award.

For all beloved pentaxian experts on this forum and especially on this thread I have a little story and it goes like this:

In a photo store where I'm usually testing and buying photo equipment there was a Pentax K-S2 on black stand with golden logo 2015 TIPA award.
In general every Pentax camera (even K-S1) had a good and equal to other brands treatment in that store.
But usually when a salesman finished with presenting cameras to buyers, they starts with thinking "why should I buy a camera from anonymous japanese brand when I could buy famous Nikon or Canon for the same amount of money".
Off course they usually choose Nikon or Canon.
But something different happened too many times to K-S2. It was selling very well in that store in compare to other brands.
We all know that K-S2 is a very good camera with unique combination of features but I could swear that in two situations when I was present (goofing around) that gold colored tipa award on a black stand was decisive factor for a buyer to make a decision.
As example in first case everything went as usual, salesman presented Canon, Nikon and Pentax DSLR and in one moment while returning K-S2 to a stand buyer starts to look at those golden TIPA letters for a few seconds and in next moment he turned around and asked salesman about guarantee and servicing conditions only for Pentax K-S2. When he got satisfactory answers he decided to get K-S2 instead on Canon and Nikon equivalents.
It looked to me that he had usual thoughts "why should I buy anonymous..." but when he saw TIPA award even he wasn't asking what kind of award is that, he probably thought "I'm not an expert but when those experts think that this anonymous brand have great cameras I'll buy this one". In that moment he probably decided to buy Pentax and with next question about guarantee and servicing condition he just wanted to ensure that he made a good decision.

So even all pentaxian experts knows that TIPA award is an ordinary peace of sh*t that award probably has a lot of sense for non-expert dslr beginners. Because of that it has my full respect.
