It is perhaps an improvement of phone cameras in general, but I think it’s rather obvious that it is affected by the amount of pixels.

For those still wondering, the sensor is 1/1.5 inches (the same as a 2/3" one if I’m not mistaken). That is, it seems, remarkably small, yet larger than most other smartphones. In my opinion that is no more than a gimmick, and almost detrimental to the images. 16MP would be enough and some more, IMO.
For a comparison.

So, how large is the sensor? If they make a 40MP-sensor smaller than APS-C, hell, possibly even smaller than full frame, it’s just some gimmick.

So I haven’t had this lens myself, but I know my friend had a similar problem with the zoom being not very smooth on his kit 18-55 Sony lens. What he did was simply to use the lens a lot, in fact shooting a sports event over a weekend. After that, the zoom worked perfectly. I don’t know if it’s just the fact that the oil isn’t properly spread, or something else, but I’d do this if you don’t get any better advice.

Sigma 10-20mm Normal
FA 31 f/1.8 Limited DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited
Pentax-A/M/K 50mm f/1.7 Short tele
DA 70mm f/2.4 Limited/FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited WR DA 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR
DA* 55mm f/1.8
Suggestions for other lenses, or what can be removed is happily received.

Is it possible to make lenses work on the K-30 without the ‘A’ setting on the aperture ring? I’ve heard that this may be a problem on the camera, but I don’t know if that’s true.

I’m pretty new in the photography world, and I love that there is a community dedicated to this brand. I just got my first DSLR, the K-30, and I love it so far. Anywhich, I’m looking forward to watching and contributing here.
