Thanks everyone for the info... Might try MF lenses again - just had trouble keeping ice off the viewfinder and such. Was trying to figure out if I could rationalise purchase of a 28-105
- primarily for cold usage, but holding off I think. But then now it's up to -18, so no longer in "extreme" territory. Ha...

Hello all...
Wondering if anyone has experience with this lens in "extreme" cold? I prefer M primes, but have been using AF zooms in the cold here (Yukon) at -25c or so. Viewfinder gets too icy for good MF experience.
Have used my old FA 28-105mm F4-5.6 on the K-1 with decent results. Also playing around with F35-105. Realising they could be damaged by this level of cold, but... not as pricey as the DFA 28-105.
Anyway - what's the coldest anyone has tried with the DFA?

And now it's sold, so the mystery continues, but is no longer mine to solve....
And to add to the mystery, using exiftool one of the tags was something like "model revision" and my old k10d it was "1.2" or something like that. In this one it was (as I remember it) "8.2 (unit has been serviced)" and this means... Ok, I have no idea...

Ok, before everyone writes to correct me, THIS IS A K10d in a K20d case!! It is not a K20d!!
I bought this locally - and the seller said he had been ripped off and told it was a k20d - when it is actually a k10d in k20d case?!? So if you ever wondered.... dimensions seem to be exactly the same! But why this change was done I have no idea!
Anyway, noted that the focus seemed to be off. I have corrected the auto-focus using "debug mode" with info found here on the forums. So that works. Unfortunately I mostly use manual focus, and that seems to be off too! From what I have read here, focus screen shims are needed to correct it. Some here in the forums have done the job with post-it notes?!? I haven't had time to try...
Here's what's included for $25 + Shipping.
--Pentax K10d - All good except manual focus is slightly off. AF ok in debug mode. According to others, MF can be corrected w/ shims.
--Charger - the original one.
--Batteries - 2 original D-Li50 batts in good condition.
Noting that the batts and charger sell for more than $25, so... It's like getting a free k10d, albeit a basket case with identity issues!
For another $5
--Diagonal split focusing screen. I used this on my k20d before changing back when I sold it. Fits k10d, k20d, ISTDs - and maybe others.
--For another $20, I'll add a DA L 18-55 in great condition!
And that last scary photo is the extra focusing screen and corresponding surgery kit....
